Ubiquiti Networks EdgeSwitch 5XP 5-Port Gigabit PoE Managed Switch (ES-5XP)

I brought this switch to handle four Ubiquiti cameras (24v). It works great! The management dashboard is nice and pretty well laid out. I thought the management RJ45 port was unnecessary. Maybe it was an attempt to be more secure. The one thing I noticed was odd, was that the login credentials only allow the username to be changed. The password stays as default.The performance is excellent and I think the status page give you a lot of useful performance information. This switch is not plug & play, must be at a novice level. I had no problems setting it up.

Works good. I like the ability to enable and disable PoE on the interfaces. I didn't know prior to purchase that the edgeswitch product line doesn't integrate with the unifi manager. It has its own management web console. Overall I like it but wished it could be managed by the unifi manager.

We have incorporated a number of Ubiquiti managed switches into our WISP backbone, 5's,8's and 10SP's. So far they have all worked flawlessly.

This set up is not a plug and play type of hardware. Its a pain in the butt to set up. Use the community page, and lots of youtube videos are recommended but still might not give you the right answer, But if your tech savvy and you know how to troubleshoot. You MIGHT survive the configuration and be rewarded with an excellent product. BTW Unif and Edgemax don't play nice together. If you had to pick one or the other go with the Edgemax as the root of your network I gives you more bang to the buck I found that out the hard way.

Excellent for high (or low) temperature installation locations.

This is NOT a 48v POE. I purchased to power my Ubiquity APs but it won’t. I love ubiquity - this product is misadvertised. I want an exchange!
