Etudes Speciales, Op. 36 - Book 1: Schirmer Library of Classics Volume 1885 Viola Method

It’s a great method book for the viola, because it gets to the nitty-gritty, and teaches you how to play well in all 12 keys, but you must practice practice practice, there is no substitute for that!

Unlike the Bach Cello Suites from the same company, these seem pretty good and not weird at all

My daughter really enjoys playing these pieces. Great lesson book for a violist.

While I’ve been assured that the book has great songs, we’ve noticed that several dotted quarter notes or dotted eighth notes are missing their dots. Just be aware that you’d want to look through it before playing to add those dots in. They’re not all missing, just some here and there.

Great practice book!

Great etude book. A must have for learning viola technique. However, I don't know if it is only my copy, or the one sold by Amazon, but the printing isn't super high quality. Some of the articulation marks and augmentation dots are missing because they're so small.

We only discovered this belatedly, but my child brought to my attention that her book misses so many notes (somehow not printed at all at the margins) that her teacher has to spend the precious lesson time correcting her book. What bummer!

La couverture étant très souple (c'est une édition très abordable donc ça se comprend) il serait judicieux de prévoir un emballage plus rigide. On sent que le livreur n'a pas fait n'importe quoi mais avec le carton prévu la participation est arrivée un peu marquée. Pas grave du tout mais ça pourrait être amélioré. Reçue très rapidement par contre !
