National Geographic Kids Everything Sharks: All the shark facts, photos, and fun that you can sink your teeth into

My 9 year old grandson loved this. It was perfect for him.

Bought this for my 5 year old son as he loves fact books and especially about water creatures. We have read through this book many times and my son still asks to read it after bed time story. Some of them are a little beyond a 5 year old but he still loves to listen and it's nice as it will be something we can revisit as he gets older.

My 4 yr old grandson became fascinated with sharks while watching "shark week" on tv last summer. Since he loves books and stories, I thought it would be nice to find him some books about sharks. There are lots of books about sharks for kids, but this is the best one I've found. Most of the books are a bit scary for 4-6 yr olds. Yes, sharks can hurt or kill people or other sea animals, but this National Geographic Book for kids presents all the information about sharks in a benign, non-sensational manner and there are no scary (bloody body part)) photos. This book is colorful and well designed, in order to capture a child's attention. My grandson is now quite well-versed in his knowledge of all varieties of sharks. This book also includes maps to show kids where the various types of sharks live. This book is a great learning tool for geography, oceanography, concept of space and time and of course, shark facts!In my opinion, National Geographic usually does a great job in presenting "adult" concepts and gearing them to young children. If you have a shark lover in your family, he or she would really enjoy this book.

Whether the reader shares facts like those above or the gorgeous photographs, the book is perfect for all those shark-lovers out there, and even those who don't particularly care for sharks will find the information interesting. The book would also be very useful in teaching students how to read graphs, diagrams, and maps, as well as the importance of good captions. Highly recommended.

My 3 year old loves sharks always wants to just look at shark pictures online, this book is amazing he loves it. The pictures are so vivid!

I bought this to read to my four yearold as he loves sharks. The book is very attractive with lots of great colours and punchy facts which he has memorised and can now tell me that Mako shark can jump higher than a giraffe! This would be great even for a teenager as it is just super interesting. Great buy!
