Expensive, but well worth it!
I love this little tank.. It's perfect for when I go car camping (versus lugging a standard 5G/20LB tank). FYI, this is a 1 Gallon tank. 1 gallon of propane is roughly 4LBS. The tank empty is 11LBS, so with propane is approximately 15LBS total weight. I brought it to a "dedicated" propane filling place (versus a gas station). There was a label that clearly stated that the tank had to be purged before filling. The propane guys knew what to do.. They even joked with me stating that they couldn't fill my tank cause they didn't have enough gas! Joking in the sense that its tiny.. ;)My only "frown" was the price.. Expensive yes, but well worth it (due to the compact and weight of the product). Please see the size comparison to a regular tank.

Perfect replacement for Hunter 31 sailboat tanks
This is an exact replacement for my 2006 Hunter 31 sailboat tanks. I bought two. In the picture my old tank is on the left, the two new tanks are on the right. Had them purged and filled today for $3.71 a piece. They hold a little over a gallon of propane. Purging is a must, as they are shipped with compressed air. Process is simple and took about 20 minutes. Basically the technichian purged some air, put some propane in slowly, purged again, and filled again. Did this about 4 times. The tank eventually filled with propane and spit from the fill valve as normal at the end of the process. Very happy over here! By the way...FYI West Marine sells these exact same tanks for $119 each. Also...I ordered these on 7/6/2016. They arrived very quickly on 7/8/2016. They both have manufacture date stamps of 5/2016. This is very good as they have to be recertified after 12 years.

Great Small LPG Tank!
I like to camp from my truck over the weekend. In order to run my small BBQ, I have been using the disposable 1 lbs. propane tanks. At about $3.50 each, it can get expensive pretty quick. So, I bought a spare 20 lbs. propane tank and used an adapter hose to connect to my BBQ. Yes, the 20 lbs tank worked great and was cheap to refill, but, it was just too big and heavy to lug around. Plus, it would always tip over and roll around in the back of my truck. So I bit the bullet and bought this 1 gallon (4.2 lbs) propane tank. It is the perfect size for camping. It is very easy to lift at just 11 pounds (when full of propane). It has a wide rim bottom so tip does not tip over. And it is equal to slightly more then 4 disposable 1 lbs. propane tanks.I also have been using it a lot with my small 700 Watt propane inverter generator. It will run the generator about 8 hours at full load.Take look at the photos I took to see how it compares to a standard 20 lbs. propane tank. -Steve

The price for this tank does fluctuate pretty drastically on Amazon (I checked today it's up to ...
I was a little hesitant spending just under $47 for a small tank, but size does matter when it comes to portability. Burned through a few of those little 1 lb green tanks a little too quick and cannot dispose of the empties. Just take this tank to a dedicated propane fill station the first time to have purged. I took to a local dealer "Tractor Supply" and they didn't blink an eye. Purged (took about 5 minutes or so) and completely filled. Less than $3 for the propane fill, so there will be a payback. The price for this tank does fluctuate pretty drastically on Amazon (I checked today it's up to $62). You can purchase from Lowe's or Home Depot as well ($47+tax).. Good purchase no regrets. Use with portable Weber Q1200. I purchased a stainless adapter hose as it appears the rubber hoses attract chewing varmints.

Worthington 1-Gallon Steel Propane
I love this little propane tank. It's portable and convenient for a weekend getaway camping or hunting trip. Per my calculation, this 1-gallon tank will be able to last at least three days of use, which includes cooking and lighting at night. 1-Gallon contains 128 ounces of propane, which is about 7 of the little 16.4oz throw away tanks. The best part is that I don't have to buy those 16.4 ounce tanks and throw away after I'm done using them anymore. I just need to take this tank back to refill time and time again for the next 12 years.

Small is Better
Although the investment up front is a bit expensive, this is the perfect solution for my travels. A five pound tank is heavy and unwieldy. The 16 oz green bottles are too small, expensive and non-recyclable. I carry two of these one-gallon tanks in my RV for outdoor stove cooking and they are just simply great. When one goes empty, I finish cooking with the other, then refill the first bottle at a propane-fill station, which is ultra-cheap compared to swapping out a 5-gallon tank or investing in a bunch of those green bottles.

Lasts longer than i thought.
Lasts longer than expected. Camped for 10 days making breakfast every morning and a few dinners for 3 people and had a lot of fuel to spare. For what it's worth it held up to an enormous amount of vibration with no issues.
