There ste a lot of pieces to this set but not enough instruction or information to give you the full benefit, for a novice like me it it's overwhelming how many little pieces there are and whether best for wood or soldering.As for the heat, I have found you need it a lot hotter than what it recommends to have any effect.The final thing is that the heat seems to badly effect the attachments, almost like they weren't designed for high temperature as they go very blue / discoloured. Very quickly going from pristine condition to looking like they have been used extensively for years.

Thus is a great kit for starting wood etching. The are many different types of heads and templates along with some pencils to add colour and tracing paper for copying images to the wood. Two slight problems are the limited time for using the iron (5 mins) before you have to turn it off to cool down and the second is that the technique for writing with the iron is something you have to learn. It's not like writing with a pen.

It was a good kit for a beginner, instructions easy to follow and certainly value for money. I only have a basic use for it but may be tempted to try something more adventurous.

This tool gets extremely hot and does not have a heat shield. My partner found it impossible to use after only a few minutes. The kit and accessories are fine, but the unit itself is literally too hot to handle. I would not recommend it.

Use this in my recent crafting start up. Easy to use great value for money

Arrived on time, well packaged inside the zipped bag. Everything was in the parcel as stated and looks to be reasonable quality. This is a gift and I will leave further feedback when I have it. The "user manual" is less than an A4 sheet and does not as anticipated give instructions for the use of this equipment. People will say trial and error, but as this is for a 15 year old boy who will be burning boxes I would have been happier with more instruction in the "User Manual". Thank goodness for YouTube. The loss one star is for this lack of information.

Started pyrography recently this set is amazing great for beginners only advice I'd give is you need to wear a heat resistant glove (hairdresses glove works great and available from Amazon) other wise the pen get hot and is uncomfortable to hold after about 30mins so you need to turn off and let cool.But other than that I would recommend this set if your starting out doing pyrography

This has got to be the best kit for beginners to intermediate burners. All the attachments, stencils, and colored pencils are a nice surprise for as little as it costs. Not to mention it also solders. I couldn't be happier.

The kit itself looks impressive. My first attempts at wood burning did not go well at all. Tip got too hot and started to bend. I gave up. Thankfully I decided to try again and tackled the job I wanted to do. First and foremost, I did not read the instructions properly! Very tiny, needed a magnifying glass to read. Then I was able to some amazing work on 3 picnic tables! Great kit, even used the stencils to date one of the tables. And the colouring pencils were a nice addition. Not sure about my next project but this kit is great for beginners :)

Some of the tips got weak and bend during usage. It couldn't handle the heat i guess?

So far, so good but just received it today. I've gone through 4 other wood burners in the past 6 weeks. They all seem to stop heating at all or properly after a few weeks of use. I will update in a couple of months with durability.I also have a problem with this type of burner because the burner is too long and there is no way to steady your hand while burning. But since I've had so many issues with other burners, thought I'd try this type again.

This is worth the price. Lots of stencils and accessories. Adjust temperature setting is an added bonus.
