Dirndl Womens 3-Piece Black Dirndl with Romantic Embroidery

I wore this dirndl every day during the three days I was in Munich for opening weekend of Oktoberfest (Sept. 17-18, 2016). It held up pretty well in a crowded bier halle, walking a mile in the rain to Theresienwiese from my hotel (twice), and climbing up the Bavaria statue. It rained every day that weekend and this outfit held up well. When I first got it, I machine washed it (removing the pewter chain on the corset) and then ironed it with starch. I re-ironed it at the hotel when I unpacked. Even after two days exposure to some rain (I had a small umbrella), there was minimal wrinkling. Initially, I was puzzled to see the pewter chain on the bodice/corset, because I had normally just seen ribbons. However, during the traditional costumes parade (first Sunday of Oktoberfest), I noticed many dirndls with pewter chains as well. These chains were often decorated with hanging coins. There are many shops in Munich that sell dirndls and lederhosen, and I did see this particular dirndl in one of those shops. However, I'm glad I got this via Amazon to ensure the right fit. The only thing I would add to this dirndl are a pair of white stockings or maybe nude hose, as it turned out to be colder in Munich than I was prepared for.

I'm in the process of returning it because the blouse I received is not the one shown in the picture. I'm 5''7" and 138lbs, 34 B/C cup. I usually wear a size 6 so I ordered a size 36. It fit well everywhere except bust and waist where it was too big to be adjusted by the corset chains. The middle (front) of the corset arcs up toward the blouse more than pictured. I like the lightweight cotton fabric, colors and details and the price. Shipping was fast through amazon prime. The hem hits at/barely below my knees. If the blouse was correct and the dress had fit, I would have replaced the corset chain with a black string. It's 100% cotton and wrinkles very easily. When I get my size 34 dress, I plan to use a heavy starch. I might look for a dirndl without the upward middle corset arc.

I'm a size 2 U.S. but busty. If you're larger on top, do NOT order based on the chart. I ended up squeezing into a size 36 when the chart told me I'm a 32. 34 was way too small as well. These dresses are based completely on bust size, so keep that in mind. Like other reviewers, the chain had to go and is being replaced by a ribbon. The shirt is awesome, very authentic and pretty. The bodice is nicely detailed. The skirt and apron are plain old cotton, but I'm going to take another reviewer's advice and iron them with starch.

The dress is beautiful but was WAY too small. I usually wear size 10, after reading other reviews I bought size 40. The white top wouldn't even fit. Some of the embroidery was snagged and the clasp for the chain fell off.. I ordered it so I'd be able to wear it to the first Oktoberfest event of the season and I will sadly be going dirndl-less. Word to the wise - order one or two sizes larger.

I normally wear a size 10 in dresses I purchased a size 40. It arrived quickly. I was very pleased with it. The dress is beautiful and fit perfect. The white top has a lovely heart edging and has pull strings so you can decide how much cleavage to show. The only thing I didn't like was the chain in the front it kept tightening on its own (weird) I changed it to a black ribbon and it's perfect again.

Decent quality for the price but looks more like a costume when compared to most other dirndls I saw and the chains are really annoying - they don't stay in place! I went to Oktoberfest in Germany in this and I fit in just fine, but if you're going to wear this more than a couple times and/or want a better-than-costume-quality dirndl, I suggest spending an extra $60-$100 on a better one.

Cute color combination, but like other Dirndls from this company, the skirt portion of the dress is just light cotton and would have benefited from a lining like the bodice has. Would prefer a cloth ribbon to the chain, so I did what everyone else is mentioning an bought some at the craft store.

The only thing about this drindl was it was a bit long on me but I'm 5'1 so I guess I'm just too short for it. Other than that it was great and fit really well
