Good starter book for Samsung devices and even other manufactures using Android OS
I wanted something that delve in the Android OS. This book does not take you there. But it is a very good book to get you started with a variety of tablets or phones. Covers the majority of functions most people will use, and in detailed steps.

You need this book if you own a Galaxy Tab 4
Great book. I bought a Galaxy Tab 2 several years ago and had a heck of a time learning all the ins and outs of it. Could not find a decent users guide at the time and was new to Android operating systems. To say I was lost is an understatement. Been using MS Windows since the 80's so I'm not new to technology but just never used anything with an Android operating system until a few years ago. I recently upgraded to a new Galaxy Tab 4 (sweet little device) so when I saw this book I figured it had to help the jump to the new Kit-Kat version. (Who names these things anyhow?) Well it sure did help me a bunch. The format is clear and easy to read. Step by step instructions and lots of pictures and diagrams. If you just bought a Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 this should be your next purchase. Get the Kindle version like I did and put the Kindle app on your Tab 4. Instant help for you on your Galaxy where ever it goes, the "book" goes. I highly recommend this book.

A must have!!
This book is detailed so if this is first device it maybe too much to soon, but it is a very good book and worth the money.

Disapponted in the operation of the device
Android OS is not as intuitive as Apple. Sliding your finger from one key on the virtual keyboard is almost certain to cause incorrect keys to be selected. I had to enter any password several times before the site would accept them. Have since acquired an Apple I5s and been able to use it as what I wanted as a backup to my laptop when it is in the shop. Would NOT buy any other Android devices!!!!

Happy, happy, happy
I've had a lot of tablets and this is by far the best. Responsive, fast, brilliant screen, and with new Kit Kat 4.4 it's even more user friendly. I was initially concerned about only having 16GB of memory, but once I added a 64GB microSD card it's not an issue at all.

This book is essential to getting the most out of the tablet. It took a long time but worth the wait.

Does not provide needed information on setting up e-mail.
I got this device to use Quizlet, and it works OK for that. Wanted the book to learn to fully used the device, but I DO NOT WANT TO MAKE A CAREER OF LEARNING IT. I wanted to get internet links from my desktop, so thought I could e-mail that information from the desktop to the Tab 4. However, the book has been NO HELP in setting up e-mail. It seems to presume you're already a tech wiz on e-mail technology, and does not start from the beginning and step you through. I follow the steps that are vaguely and briefly indicated, and which the device seems to automatically step you through - HOWEVER, THERE IS ZERO HELP WHEN AN ERROR MESSAGE POPS UP AND STOPS YOU COLD WITH NOWHERE TO GO ???? ----- Error message = "Setup could not finish. Authentication failed. Edit details." ---- NOTHING IN THE BOOK HELPS IN ANY WAY, CANNOT FIND ANYTHING ON TAB 4 OWNERS GUIDE, NOTHING ON THE INTERNET ---- NOW WHAT? Throw it in the trash and forget it? As with many books on how to use a computer program or device, the author does not seem to have the empathy or communication skills to figure out where the person who is new to the device or program is, and what that person needs to learn to get started with it. He doesn't seem to understand that other people do not know what he knows, so he's only giving partial information, not much help for many people because of the important things missing.
