EuroTool 416830 BPN-105.00 File Block and Clamp Made of Quality Hardwood (2-(Pack))

This is perfect for taking to classes or using away from your bench. The clamp is solid and that's key. The hardwood doesn't look like it has much life to it, but it's deceiving. I saw these in use at the Bead and Button Show in Milwaukee where literally dozens of neophytes hammered and sawed and beat up on these and they held up.Mine is getting a good beating, too, and that's what gives it personality and makes it mine.

I posted a previous review in which I said this bench pin was difficult to attach to the bench. It is not! I didn't see that the clamp can be placed through the hole in the pin, allowing attachment to any desk or bench. It is sturdy and useful - a very nice product. I recommend it.

Does it job just put some cardboard under the clamp if your woried about damage to the underside of the table you will clamp it to! I use it in my RV on the dining room table and the round disc will cut into the bottom of the table so I just out a little cardboard to stop that or you could use a small piece of rubber, it probably should have come with some kind of protective cap to prevent this! I guess most people would use it on work bench since I am a full time RV 'r so I dont have that luxury

Simple tool, works good as long as you don't need to do heavy work on it.Had a tough time finding out how to fix this onto my normal flat-table !(showing few images with different angles will help with this product listing)How to : Wood and the clamp come separate when you receive. Insert non-screw-end of the clamp through non-v-slot-hole and push the clamp metal as far as it goes in the grove. That is it - now you can clamp it onto your table like any other clamping tool.

If I was going to improve it, I'd make the hole a bit bigger but it's fine as is. The wood is hard and doesn't bend when I'm sawing and clamps on to the table tight. It doesn't slide around on the table or pretty much bend at all.

This is a GREAT Bench Pin for the mobile Jeweler or Watchmaker Clamps to a desktop or table and will not damage the top surface. I actually went back and ordered two more to keep in stock. I keep the one I am using in my little "Go Kit" that I use for House calls for clocks. AND one is in the "Go Kit" that I keep in the car at all times. As soon as friends and family find out your a watchmaker or jeweler.........You wind up doing a lot of pro bono work.

I will not use the portable bench pin very often. I first questioned how well the clamp would hold the bench pin while filling or sawing material. During some filling ,using a ring clamp to hold my piece of jewelry, it was very stable. The clamp appeared to be made heavier than I expected. I am pleased with my purchase.

Great basic tool and easily portable. The depth of the clamp is fairly accurate. You will need to protect surfaces from the metal clamp--will work best on wood, I think. I am using it on a mid-century enameled table that has wood corner blocks under the table surface. I keep space between the side of the clamp and the edge of the table. This has worked well. Definitely needs good height and enough non-slip surface to allow the clamp plenty of leverage. Cons: the pin could be a little thicker, the clamp was a little difficult to slide through the hole and into position, the "V" is cut a little wider than I would like.
