Clipboard, Kakbep Recycled Heavy Duty Aluminum Clipboard with Strong Clip Double Side Non-Slip Design, 9'' x 12.5''

I bought these to engrave an image on them with my laser engraver for a personalized gift. Nowhere in the product description do they mention plastic. While they don't mention rubber either, I sort of expected that the clip pads would be rubber and not aluminum. However, I certainly didn't expect the entire surface, front and back of the clipboard to be plastic and not aluminum. There is an aluminum border wrapped around the clipboard for edge protection and as far as I can tell, that's it.How did I figure this out you ask? I was going to use the small one as scrap to dial in my laser settings. I set up a couple small images with settings that have worked on aluminum for me in the past. Can you imagine what a laser does to plastic when it's dialed up for metal? Fire. That's what. Smoke and fire.I'm still giving 3 stars because honestly, they seem nice enough. The plastic is thin and will probably scratch easily. It's nice that it has rulers. The clip seems sturdy. I just wish it would stand up to lasers.Seriously though; product descriptions are important. This one needs work.

Was expecting entire clipboard to be metal

It has a lot of very user-friendly design. It is different from some common clipboards in the market. It is made of recyclable aluminum. It is very flexible. The function of the ruler is also very good on both sides of the clipboard.
