Order at least one size larger than you normally would
My husband has a 33 waist and ordered the Large size. It says size 32-25 but he found them WAY too tight. He ordered the X-L and finds them still snug but is keeping them as they have enough elasticity for it to be comfortable enough. He wore them once and was happy with their performance for his kind of intense cross country mountain bike riding. Just a heads up that the sizing is not accurate.

Awesome shorts
I am a big guy and it is hard to find cool mountain bike short that can fit me. These short did and they fit nice and make me look good that is why I buy three of them. They material is nice also tough they can handle some good falls. For any big guys out there definitely get these short you will love them as much as I do.

Great Pair of Shorts!!!
I really dig these shorts. I'm new to downhill mountain biking but I had a pretty good idea of the attributes I was looking for.#1 Fit: I'm in between sizes right now after a back injury so I was looking for shorts that have flex as I drop weight. I'm a men's 38 waist and went with a XXL. It's always a risk when ordering on line but I was able to hit the mark. The elastic waist allows for flex while the included belt gives it a great secure feel and fit.I read comments about the shorts being too baggy. They are on the roomy side but I need that for knee protectors, maneuverability, and fit "padded" undershorts if I choose to wear any.I'm not lacking in the "junk in the trunk" area but I wouldn't think anyone wants tight fitting shorts for the intended purpose. Worst case, I'd have them taken in for $5 at your local seamstress. It would be worth it in my opinion.#2 Quality & Features: The fabric feels like it won't wear right through like lighter weight material used for board shorts. But don't think that means they lack the ability to breath.Under the crotch running down the leg and in the back above your rear end, the fabric is lighter weight and breathable. In addition, there are side zippers that open up mesh vents. Select a set that have color panels here on Amazon and it'll be easier to see the areas I'm referring to.Speaking of zippers, I read a comment that they were bad quality. I don't understand why that would be the case unless they were unlucky enough to have a zipper that may have had a defect. I wear Quicksilver, Rip Curl, and other reputable brands of shorts. These short's zippers are of a superior quality. I'm not saying they are there best zippers I've ever seen but there is nothing wrong with them.Four pockets on the front of the leg is a plus. The two lower pockets are pitched slightly out toward the seam which allows your wallet or whatever you use it for to fall to the side of your knee when peddling. The two back pockets are high on the shorts so they can certainly be used for a small map, cash, or anything small and flexible. They are high enough to not interfere with a regular size seat while riding. If you wear your shorts off your hips and way low, you may not agree. In that case, they'd still be good for a small map, cash, ID, or anything small and flexible.Overall, I would definitely recommend them. I'm going to grab another pair because I think they are the right short for my needs.Safe riding out there!!!

NO CELL PHONE POCKET !?
I can't believe that in this day and age they would sell a pair of bike shorts that have EIGHT pockets, and NO CELL PHONE POCKET!Also, 2 of the zippered "pockets" along the side are completely useless, they open up to zero room. The most you could put in those pockets might be a pen. Literally completely useless. Also the belt is overkill and hard to unbuckle. Way too much stuff I want bike shorts to be simple and practical: Elastic waist that stays on without a belt, and useful zipper pockets that can hold a cell phone and a wallet. These fail in every regard.

Short term review...
I only recently began wearing "shells" (non-lined) shorts for mtb. I usually wear bibs or liner shorts underneath them. My favorite shorts thus far (and the standard by which I measure all other shorts) have been the Pearl Izumi Summit shorts. I went to Amazon to order another pair, and these showed up under "other products you might be interested in". They had good reviews, so I thought I'd give them a try.As my headline states, this is a VERY short-term review, and is a commentary on fit, construction, and comfort. I typically (almost exclusively) wear a medium short, but I read some reviews stating that these ran a little small. That is correct. If you're on the upper edge of fit, you may want to bump up a size. I'm a 34 waist, and I ended up getting a large. They fit great. Bottom line: If you have to suck in your belly to make your 34 jeans fit...don't fool yourself, go with a large.I like my shorts to be light and airy and these fit both of those requirements. Also, there are zippers running up the outer seams that you can unzip to create ventilation. On a 90 degree, high-humidity southern day, that was a nice feature. The reason I like the Summit shorts are the fact that they fit snug, so I don't get a lot of seat-snagging when I'm moving around the bike. I wouldn't call these shorts snug, but they're not loose by any means. Also, there are velcro closures on the legs that allow you to tighten them around your legs. I tinkered with those, but ultimately decided they were unnecessary (even for a guy with smaller legs). The rear panel of the short is all nylon/lycra and allow for a great range of motion. Again, compared to the Summits, not quite as good, but no slouch either. These shorts have a nylon belt which you need to close before putting them in the wash, least it escapes and makes it sound like your washer is about to explode. Or, just take the belt off before you wash them. Considering the short amount of time I've worn them, I can't give an adequate review on durability, however, they seem to be well-made. I got the red ones, and the only thing I can see that concerns me is that the color seems to be fading a bit after a couple of washes. Nothing major, but it may simply be a product of the color I chose.Ultimately, I'm pleased with the shorts. They run a bit small, but they once fitted correctly, they are comfortable. I gave them 4 stars simply because they haven't earned a 5-star because I'm uncertain about durability. If they can stand the test of time, I'll definitely be buying more of these.

Good but could be so much better.
Good shorts overall but could be so much better if there was less of that plasticky type of material, zero give in those parts, make it better please, but like I said, overall a good piece of clothing, not sure how comfortable it is riding yet, needs to be flexible in the quads area, a bit tight, needs more give and elasticity, the zippers have great rubberized pulls and the zippers themselves slide well up and down but open easily, velcro adjustment on the bottom of the shorts is useless, ventilation openings is good and I leave it open to have an extra centimetre around the thighs, belt is not bad but should have done elasticity also, 3 stars, lost one of too much plasticky fabric and another for lack of elasticity.

These shorts are good time will tell of they are excellent
So far no drama's. The belt hoop actually holds a belt well. There are adequate pockets for most bits and bobs and they seem fairly rugged. Now If your like me and like to stuff gear into your short pockets, they will rip tear, burst zips. regardless of the quality so beware, but these shorts are good time will tell of they are excellent, but beware, what appears to be extra zip pockets are in fact Zip vents.

Brilliant shorts.
A high quality pair of shorts. Have been using for several months, and no failures or issues. All zips working. I was lucky to get a good fit. There are many cheaper products, but I am glad I treated myself. 5 stars I rarely give, but justified here.

Für große dicke Männer......
Jo, hab sie in ganz groß genommen, damit ich reinpaß. Jo und das tu ich. Locker!Sie hat KEIN Sitzpolster. Brauch ich nicht. Ist mein Hintern schon. Also wer Sitzpolster will, dem sei abgeraten, ansonsten für große Umfänge gut. Ist mit elastischem Bund und ein Gürtel ist auch bei, der um den Wanst rumpaßt. Und rauf auf's Rad. Have für!!!
