Beautiful Problem Solver - nice Material
I put this in my second story bathroom that faces the street. I used it in the bottom half of a double hung window, left the top window clear, so now I have a nice view of the trees, but no ugly street view, and no worries about people seeing in to the bathroom. I still think at night it needs the shade pulled down, but it is perfect for daytime. This is really lovely, super easy to put up and looks fantastic. I am really bad at measuring and cutting, so that was the only headache- six panes to match up. I accidentally cut one the wrong direction, and my son noticed that the lines were going the opposite way in one pane. No one else noticed at all, but just to warn you to cut all out in the same direction if fitting into multiple panes. I would also cut it closer to the actual window size than they recommend since there is a slight gap. Not sure why they recommend that. I used a metal ruler with a square built in (?) and an exacto knife. Cut slowly to keep a straight line. I didn't have a squirt bottle so just filled a bowl with soapy water and rubbed that onto the window with my hand. Worked fine. Also, I put this up during the day, and didn't notice any bubbles at all, but they were visible at night. So maybe it would help to put up when it is darker outside? Not sure. This is a great solution to poorly placed windows. I am not sure if there would be an off gassing smell if in a window that gets direct sunlight. I didn't notice a smell though, but window doesn't get direct sun.

Love It
I love it. It was pretty easy to apply and it looks beautiful. Does its job of providing privacy but still have sun light.

Quality, decent privacy, pretty!
This is the “blossom” pattern repeated three in a stack. Worked great! Not tons of privacy (you can still see fuzzy shapes from across the street into my apartment) but you can’t get a clear picture. Application was easy, just took a few hours of work. I recommend.

Absolutely gorgeous, but a bit pricey and tiling them has drawbacks
I bought 2 of these films to install on a large bathroom window overlooking our tub (no idea why the original builder decided to use clear glass for this window). Due to the size of the window (42" x 42"), I had to order 2 films to try and cover the majority of the window. You can look at the image I posted in the customer images section to see how the finished film application turned out. Let me start out by saying that this film is gorgeous. It looks amazing and instantly improves the look of a window if applied properly. Pros: - Looks gorgeous, adds a lot of class to an otherwise plain window - Does an excellent job of blocking direct sunlight. I had only one film up for a while during the day so I could compare the effect of the film when illuminated by direct sunlight. It does an amazing (much better than expected) job of diffusing the harsh, direct sunlight, and instead casts a beautiful diffuse sunlit pattern within the room. - Very easy to install if you follow instructions... included squeegee is also a very nice and helpful plus - Size is exactly 24" x 36" ... patterns are also perfectly tileable across multiple films. Cons: - If using multiple films to span a larger window, even though you can match the patterns at the seams, the junction between the two films is readily discernible and does not look very nice. If you have a clear glass window then you are out of luck and there isn't much you can do. If like me, you have a window pane with a supporting frame within the window pane, you can line up the edges of the films along the horizontal/vertical lines of the supporting frame if you measure things correctly. This hides the seam very well as the shadow of the frame distracts the eye and you won't notice the seams of the film. You can see what it looks like in the picture I posted in the Customer images section - The first 2 films I tried using, I noticed a distinct difference in the color of the 2 films (not color tones, just the net gray color of the diffuse section of the 2 films) even though I installed both films simultaneously using the same soapy water solution. This only further exacerbated the visible seams between the 2 films (I did not line up the films with the supporting frame of my window pane on my first attempt). The 3rd film matched my 1st one better, but I was also helped by lining up the edge of the films with the supporting frame which tricks the eye into not noticing the seams and minor color differences between the films - Really would be nice to order larger size films for larger windows. As mentioned above, while tiling can work out reasonably well if you are lucky and careful, things would be a lot easier and the end result would look a lot nicer if you could buy a larger size film of this same type for larger windows. Tips on application of the film: - Use Windex and a lint free cloth or paper towels to clean the window pane thoroughly. - Use very few drops of soap in the soapy water. For my first film, I think it was a bit too soapy and as a result I had some minor milky streaking under the first film. It was nothing major or very apparent, but was still there. The second film, I used very very little soap and even though the water didn't "wet" the glass as well, the end result was much nicer. - Use LOTS of water on the window. Get it completely wet. It will make your life much easier by letting you slide the film and get the positioning perfect - Once you have the film positioned perfectly, very gently and slowly squeegee the water out. The film will move a bit from time to time. Make sure you are slow, patient, and that you keep re-adjusting the film position. As you squeegee more and more water out, the film will be harder to move, but if you are careful and persistent, you can get the positioning absolutely perfect. - Once you are done squeegeeing, keep an eye on the film for another 10-15 mins as the water dries out...you might need to re-adjust the film a tad bit, especially if you are trying to match seams between multiple films - Some air bubbles will show up in a couple of hours, or are easier to see as the lighting conditions change. Keep the squeegee handy and get those bubbles out whenever you see them. - Lastly, be very careful when squeegeeing at the edges. It is very easy to lift up the edge of the film on the backstroke. I hope all of this helps. This is definitely a beautiful product and works much better than I thought any film based product could work. Update (11/5/2014) - It has now been over 2 years since I applied this film on our bathroom window. Amazingly, it still looks just as good as the day it was installed. I have had absolutely no issues with delamination, bubbles appearing, edges lifting, etc. It has stayed on perfectly, despite being attached on a large window that gets very cold in the winters. I think it's safe to say that if you apply this film correctly, it will last for many many years. I've also taken this opportunity to re-evaluate this product to 5 stars from my original rating of 4 stars. The Cons listed above still hold, but I do believe that for the price, this product is simply fantastic and the fact that it has held up so well over 2 years definitely earns it an extra star! Update (03/24/2020) - Well, it's now been 8 years since this product was applied to my then bathroom window!! Since then, I sold the house as I moved states, but my old house was just put back on the market, and lo and behold, this product is still on the bathroom window (based on my stalking of my old home on Zillow) and looks just as good as ever. If it's good enough to still be kept on for home showings, we can only assume that this product is still doing great.

Easy. Lovely. Inexpensive. Transformative.
This transformed a bedroom where the windows always had the drapes drawn due to their placement near sidewalks. Pedestrians walking down the hill see right into the bedroom - not a good thing. But I did want to get some sun so this solution seemed like it would work. Great. Installed easily. I was pleasantly surprised at the outcome, and so happy that I ordered another roll for other windows. I had to cut the film to place within the my window's metal grids of six squares over six squares. I placed the film on only the bottom half of my windows. This solution prevented people walking by from being able to see directly in, yet I can still walk over to the window and see out over the upper half. I still pull the curtains at night for security. Installation: I didn't cut the film to fit perfectly within each square but you can't tell - it still works and looks fine. Others had noted that it did not stick and I had this problem at first - until I figured out that I was applying the wrong side to the window. I had some minor problems peeling away the backing and getting the bubbles out but nothing major. When the blinds are drawn every morning the bedroom is now bright and sunny - passers by can not see in but the sun does shine in. And the scroll pattern is lovely. I'm thrilled with this product which provided a complete transformation of a bedroom at a cheap price. Easier than painting and cheaper than specialized window treatments.
