Excellent paper journal
Love this classic, paper journal. I am on my third Bodyminder (over the last 3 years).I also use an electronic journal and have tried making my own spreadsheets, but this Bodyminder is great and super convenient for taking with you, on the go. It is especially useful when doing a 12 or 13 week fitness or eating program since it has enough pages for daily entries for 13 weeks (or can be used for longer periods of time if not written in everyday). It helps to maintain discipline, if you commit to writing in it every day, even if just as reminders, and even if you go off track from your program (just get back on track). There is something more more real and tangible about writing in a book vs. on an electronic device. The Bodyminder pre-printed pages are close to what I would have designed for myself. I like the weekly goals, daily tracking and weekly progress sections. I do re-purpose or ignore some of the sections that are not relevant to me, but overall, the design of the journal is the closest to meeting my needs of commercially available journals I have seen.Beginning: Weekly Plan pages. Good to make weekly goals and then spots to check off your plan and/or accomplishments for each day of the week. This section is set up for daily exercise goals, but I use some of the lines for more general weekly goals. It also has a line for weekly dietary goals.Middle: Daily journal pages. It has sections for both exercise and food recording. I do like the comments, reminders and "met today's goals?" scale bar from 0 to 100%. I modify the exercise sections to fit my style; it has cardio and strength sections, as well as other exercise. Dietary notes: I like that it has space for breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, snack (I do not fill in calories, etc but use for just recording food). I like that it has boxes to check off for water consumption and a section for vitamins.End: Starting Stats & 13-week goals, Weekly Progress (measurements), misc pages such as games & competitions, expenses. The Bodyminder is a great size (~5.5 x 8.5" pages) that makes it easy to handle and transport. It has a spiral binder that makes pages easy to write on when open or folded back on itself. Pens fit great into the spiral so they are handy and do not get lost or caught on anything. The paper is high quality with no bleed through. Pages in the front and back are cream colored and the daily journal pages are white. It has a vinyl pocket in the back for storing papers. The cover is plastic coated and holds up well going into and out of tote bags. I don't really care for the graphics on the cover but is not too bad; I suppose it could be blacked-out with a Sharpie.I like using this journal with multi-colored pens, with a different color pen for each week (use same color for the weekly goals in the front, for daily entries in the middle and for the weekly measurements in the back). I recommend Zebra Sarasa Rapid Dry Ink Gel Pen, Retractable, 0.7mm, Assorted Colors, 10 Pack (46881).Overall, the Bodyminder journal is a very well-thought-out product. It does not fully replace electronic journaling but is a nice complement. Highly recommend.

Wonderful Tool!
I am about to buy my second one! I love this book. I used it a year ago to track exercise and calories. I lost about 30 lbs over 3 months by logging everything in this book. I ran out of pages, so I decided to try living without it. I've tried a number of apps of on my iphone, but this book really is the simplest, quickest way to log workouts. It does only give spots for 4 sets of each exercise, but there are plenty of other places to write additional info. You can also squeeze 2 sets into one slot, if you write really tiny, or just use 2 lines. I like that there are spaces to record strength training and spaces for recording cardio. There is also a section for other activities. On days that I didn't do strength training, I would write the cardio that I did in that space on the day before and just record the date. I didn't want to waste a page for just cardio. I didn't use the food diary very much because I track my calories on-line with Fitbit. However, it is nice to have a place to write the calories totals the Fitbit gives me each day. There is a place at the back of the book to record weight and measurements. I eventually ran out of room there. I weighed more often than weekly, so I started recording weights and measurements in the "Games and Competitions" section. What I loved about this book:1. You can record a lot of information in a small space.2. It isn't too big to lug around the gym.3. The ring binding is the right size for a pencil with a big eraser, or for a clip-on pen.4. The plastic cover won't rip off.5. The spaces are flexible enough that you can record info in a way that is convenient for you.6. It has a plastic sleeve in the back that is handy for slips of paper, business cards, cash, etc.

Great product to monitor your fitness and food intake
I love this journal. I use it daily to record my fitness activities and meals. The journal is easy to use and provides space to record your cardio activities (e.g. treadmill, elliptical trainer), your strength-training exercises, and other miscellaneous activities. For strength training, the table allows you to record your repetitions and weights. You can also record your meals and snacks throughout the day. This is useful if you are tracking your calorie intake. There's also list of common foods and their calories at the beginning of the book (there's space to add to the list). If you are trying to lose weight or simply track the number of calories you are consuming, recording this information does make you feel more accountable for what you eat and makes you think twice before eating something you really shouldn't.Prior to the Bodyminder journal, I had used the Fitlosophy Fitbook, which is also a nice fitness journal, but costs twice as much as the Bodyminder and has less space to record your activities. The Fitbook also doesn't have space to track the number of calories that you burn and intake; a feature that I like. If you are looking for a simple (no frills) and easy to use journal, I highly recommend the Bodyminder. It's thin enough to stick in your gym bag and gives you the flexibility to start/stop recording your activities, whereas the Fitbook always started on a Monday. When I'm finished with this journal, I plan to purchase another Bodyminder journal. It just takes a couple of minutes a day to record your activities and food intake, which is well worth the time if you trying to get or stay fit.
