Excellent.
This product worked very well for me. I'm in Phoenix, AZ and had a patch of dirt in the backyard of my recently purchased home. I wanted to plant a patch of grass for my dogs. I'd recently seeded the entire front yard with Bermuda grass and had good results germination-wise, but I wasn't (and still am not) thrilled with the look and feel of it. We're very limited in the grass we can grow down here, and bermuda probably makes up 99% of the lawns. I started researching the viability of zoysia in this climate and it seemed as though it may work, and given that this is just a small area in the back yard out of the public eye, it wouldn't be the end of the world if it didn't.Fortunately, it did work. I bought this stuff and planted it at the beginning of May. I killed off any remaining weeds, tilled and raked, then put down a layer of compost. Then I sprinkled the seeds right on top. I set it up a hose timer to water twice a day while I was at work at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., while manually running it once before leaving for work, and once or twice after I got home. I would only run it for 2 minutes each time, to keep the soil moist but not drench it. I'd say within 15 days the sprouts were coming up. I'm about 2 months in now, and there's still a lot of ground to cover, but it's a slow growing grass and I knew that going into it. Where it is coming in, it's coming in beautifully. It's very thick and carpet-like, a welcome change from the wirey bermuda grass. I had a good germination rate, and minimal weeds (though some weeds are unavoidable, they're easy enough to pull out from the recently turned soil). I'm guessing the area won't be fully grown in until next year. but if early results are indicative of the future, it will be well worth the wait.I'm curious to see how well it does over the year through the changing weather, and I can't give a full report yet on how early it goes dormant in the winter or greens up in the spring, but I'm thrilled with out it looks and feels and would highly recommend this product based on my experience with it so far. I'm not sure why other reviewers are having such poor luck with it.In the added picture, you can see near the wall where it wasn't getting adequate water and as a result it's still bare on that side. I added another sprinkler and hope it will (slowly) spread over and over that area as well. There's also some bermuda grass that snuck in, that looks long and scraggly. I'm thinking it will get choked out in time.

Nope
Not sure what green thumbs other reviewers have but I have pampered these seeds per directions and then some, but have gotten sub par results. 1lb of zoysia seeds is, admittedly, a good bit of seed. None-the-less, heard a lot of good things about zoysia so sprang a few bucks to test the hype. First batch was in three trays under grow light and watered daily. Sprinkled a healthy dose of seeds in those first 3 trays. Got maybe 20 sprouts. That's it! After a month was peeved about initial test results so put rest of seeds in yard, outside, under natural light. Again watered daily. Outdoor results are about the same statistically as the indoor pampered batch and that is by rough estimates about 5-10% of the seeds actually sprouted. I was hoping by growing seeds I'd save money on buying plugs. At this point I'd say the plugs are a more sure bet although more expensive.

Very difficult to get them growing. Guess it is too hot here to keep them damp.

Great Product and Great Price
So happy I found this grass seed and very pleased with the amount in the package and the price as well. We planted it this weekend and will send an update report after we see the growing results this spring and summer. We have dry spots in our yard and this product is just what I was looking for to plant in Southeast Texas. This type of grass was recommended by our HOA to use for our area. Thanks for a great product!

Very slow to germinate.

Zoysia
These seeds did not take in my area ... but I am sure they are fine if you are in the correct zone for them.

Great green grass, if you use it right
This grass is outstanding. Ignore the one-star haters on this review board. Growing zoysia from seed is hard, and this seller isn't promising anything that makes it less hard. Watch the YouTube videos and experiment and, climate permitting, you will have some success. I dedicated a barren patch in my yard to growing the stuff, and after a few failures and tips from friends, I'm ready to expand to the rest of the yard.

Green Green Grass
I bought this grass seed and added to my plugged Zoysia lawn in early June. I found these seeds work best to fill in on bare spots. In a matter of two weeks my lawn was greener and fuller with lots of new grass from seeding with Compadre Zoysia. Requires daily watering. I highly recommend Compadre Zoysia Grass Seed for a greener fuller lawn.
