Fits well, colors could be brighter
Colors are pretty dull but it’s really easy to use. Stacking the colors doesn’t really work like they suggest. Wish there was a little more variety

A fun, varied, colour filter pack
First of all I'd like to say that I am happy with this product. The documentation is sufficient and the filters work as expected. On the physical side the filters are well sized and fit even on my larger flashes or those with zoom adapters. The relatively long side tabs also for the band to be placed closer or further from the from of the flash head. If I were only going to use this on one set of flashes I'd probably cut them to better match the width of the flash head as in that way accessories that fit directly onto the flash might still be usable. As I use these on different flashes I've left them large and only use them with accessories that don't mount flush on the head (e.g. an umbrella or softbox). The filters feel reasonable and are shipped with paper in between (apparently part of the manufacturing process). As with any film type filter they can be crimped or scratched relatively easily so care must be taken as I'm sure rough use would render them unusable quite quickly. The attachment bands seem to work well for me though I suspect if you had a particularly small flash they might not fit tight enough. In theory you could use any rubber band but the thickness of these reassures me that they won't break readily and the tabs to help lift the sides to insert/remove the filters are convenient. The instructions are minimal but sufficient and the reference cards included for the colour correction filters provide a useful reference for the lighting situation they apply to. The colour filters do not provide much description but do enumerate the colours. Between these two sources I think it's easy to understand what the filters are and how you'd probably use them. The filters themselves are also labelled with their name and the light loss as well as (for colour corrections) an icon indicating the situation they apply to.The pouch they come in is reasonable. It'll definitely keep them together but I'd still be a little concerned that they could be damaged (folded etc) and would rather a hard case. The reference cards included do act to stiffen the pouch so perhaps leaving them in (irrespective of your need) is helpful.Overall these meet my expectations but this kit is only for a single flash. I augmented it with the colour correction kit (which includes three bands and three of each colour filter) and between the two I have essentially everything I need.

A great gel system in a handy wallet. A few usage notes in review
I've been reading a lot of books and articles later about what I can do to get those extra details that make a shot exciting. Up until a few weeks ago, I had rarely used color gels other than to compensate for ambient lighting, and I wanted to pick up something that had a wide variety of colors to use. The Rogue system definitely fit the bill with a number of color correction, as well as special effects colors to use. I also like that the gels have their colors and f-stop loss information written directly on the material. Very helpful. The filters are organized into three sections, Greens/Blues, Correction Filters, and Yellows/Reds. Having a slaved or radio-triggered speedlite somewhere in the background with even a slight tinge of color is often enough to keep a viewer's attention, even if for an extra few seconds. I found the system helpful in supporting the themes that I was going after, drawing attention to a specific area of a shot, and giving energy to a still image.A few usage notes: When fastening the gel to your flash head, let it "bow" up a little bit. Don't strap it down directly across the lens, as it will start to deform from the heat. I looked over at one of my flashes during a shoot to see smoke coming up from it. It had actually begun to melt the gel material in place. Once I gave it some slack, it performed beautifully, although I'm not sure how you would go about using a strap-on grid... probably why Rogue makes their own circular grid and pack of gels for it (sold separately, of course). Also, they're nice enough to include a rubber strap to hold the gels in place by their tabs. If you want to use two different colored gels on two different flashes (CTO orange up front, red in the back, for example) you'll need a way to hold it in place. I recommend buying a couple of thick rubber bands (there's really so much more you can use them for as well) or using one of those "I Support Kittens Rights" wrist things that everyone sells for charities nowadays. They make great speedlite accessory holders.livestrong bracelet, hair tie or rubber band

easy to use
simple to use gels in an easy to access case. abit overpriced for this type of thing but I expect to get long term usage out of them. I prefer these as the gels are easy to swap and I can just leave the blue rubberband on permanently even when not using a gel. serves me as a marker for which flash unit is in which group too.the case is not waterproof and too long to fit in a pocket without sticking out. however, that makes it flexible and the contents are not affected by water anyway. it has small bookmarks included to organise your filters in a cheap but efficient way.the gels themself can get creases if you are not careful (thus the provided case to keep them laid flat) but I don't notice a difference in light quality with the creases.

Does the job, just pricey.
Use these with Neewer and Canon speedlites. The gells work fine. Be weird if they didn't. They are thin and a tad fragile, but I think as long as you look after them they will do the job. They are packed with paper separators and 3 thin index cards. This is nice but it's extremely fiddly. Makes you want to put them in some kind of small book/binder solution so you can flick through without dropping 80+ sensitive bits of product everywhere.Knocking a star mainly because it's too expensive for what you get IMO.
