Pelican Apex 100 Kayak, Fade Blue/White

Great kayak, especially for the price. We wanted something inexpensive for guests, but we like them enough that we take them out ourselves. Very nice for the calm Keys waters. Shipping was very fast!

I just bought this kayak (in orange) on sale from Dick's Sporting Goods yesterday and took it out on the water same day for 3 hours. I think it's well made and tracks well. I am a beginer and needed something simple. It only weighs about 40 lbs. so I am able to carry it for a short distance to the edge of the water by myself (I am 5'2). It can hold up to 250 lbs. (that would include any gear). It has a a nice stern storage platform with a bungee net across it to hold a small cooler or other supplies. It gets wet back there so I would get a dry bag if you have anything that can't get wet. They have many molded foot rests to make sure you are comfortable no matter how tall or short you are. The seat it self does not have padding but has a decent enough padded back rest. Down the road I might get something a little more cushiony but for the three hour trip I made yesterday it was fine.I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants a really good kayak without spending a lot of money.
