Praying with the Saints for the Holy Souls in Purgatory Review: Great introduction & easy read - I’m currently converting to Catholicism and have struggled understanding purgatory and how to adjust from the misconceptions I’ve accepted previously. This book helped tremendously. It provided just enough information to ease me into understanding where it wasn’t overwhelming, scary, or too “crazy.” The book is very easy to read and I couldn’t put it down. I’ve gone from confusion over this topic to passion about praying for the souls in purgatory. There is so much grace God has for us if we remember the church suffering!! Buy this book- you won’t regret it. Review: Very informative - At least this book written about the Holy Souls in Purgatory is not as scary as the other book, "Purgatory Explained." The reason I gave the other book only 3 stars was it was hard to handle with what was written. There must have been a more gentle way. However, this book, "Praying with the Saints for the Holy Souls in Purgatory" was more gentle in expressing the truth and telling things as they are. There are prayers in the book also that we can say. It is very informative. It also gives ways we can pray for the souls in purgatory and also sacrifices we can offer up for their souls. There are souls that have been waiting to get to Heaven for centuries...forgotten souls who only need someone to offer prayers for them. The souls cannot pray for themselves. They depend upon our prayers. They can pray for us though and do. Some would rather not believe that there is a purgatory and that everyone goes straight to Heaven because Christ died on the cross for our sins. These two books say otherwise, as do many saints who have witnessed Purgatory and Hell as well as seen visions of Heaven when they were alive. They wrote of these visions.

Susan's best yet
I can't believe Susan packed so much into this inspirational book. It covers everything you want to know about Purgatory, and the fact that the book has an Imprimatur assures that it does not deviate from Church teachings. Susan uses Scripture, the Catechism, quotes of the saints and the popes to support her writing. The stories of the saints are fascinating. I could hardly put it down. I loved the analogies and personal anecdotes she used to help us understand better and the humor she sprinkled in places. What I also liked were the practical suggestions of things to do (novenas.devotions, etc.) to help the holy souls and ourselves as well. The beautiful original artwork on the cover is a perfect picture of what is inside the book. It instructs and inspires. This is Susan's best yet! June Klins

the Church Militant together with an easy to understand format
This book exceeded my expectations! You can open the book anywhere and receive a one page uplifting thought/action for the day. Susan blended the concept of the Holy Souls, the Saints and we, the Church Militant together with an easy to understand format. An unexpected surprise, was the mention, more than once, of our need for priests - who are the lifeline through the Masses we offer for our deceased loved ones.

A book all Catholics should read
This book is so inspirational. After we read it we bought more to give as Christmas gifts to our children. Every Catholic should have a copy of this and read it periodically to remind us of the need to pray for the Poor Souls in Purgatory. These Souls are forever grateful for our prayers and will pay us back a thousand fold. They can't help themselves but they can and do help all who pray for them.

Doing Unto Others.
I didn't know what to expect from this book going in, but found it to be a very readable, believable and cogent argument for and explanation of Purgatory. The stories of those who have had contact with the Holy Souls in Purgatory are compelling. I now recite St. Gertrude's prayer daily for them, and have followed the example of Pope St. Gregory and had 30 consecutive daily masses said for deceased family and friends on an individual basis. We can help bring many of the faithful departed to eternal rest and peace through these simple actions, and Susan Tassone shows us how.

LOVE this book!
This is one of my all time favorite books, and I have read many books on Purgatory. Get us out of here! is one of them, this is the other. Fabulous and full of specific stories, accounts and reccomendations for prayer and how to make a difference for you - and for your friends and family that have passed on. I have bought many/multiple copies of this book for friends and family. It's that good.

Very insightful book. Susan Tassone helps the reader to understand the powers our daily prayers have in helping to release the suffering souls from purgatory. She explains so well the necessity of purgatory and God's love for us in creating it. An extremely well written book everyone should read
