Tex Avery Treasures - Films by One of the Greatest Cartoonists of All Time

These are early Tex Avery cartoons that he made when he worked for Warner Bros. After working for WB, he went to work for MGM and made Droopy, Red Hot Riding Hood, and Screwy Squirrel.Everything is uncensored as far as I can tell. (There's even a censored 11 cartoon! "All This and Rabbit Stew" with Bugs Bunny.)The video quality is very good except for a few of the commercials that look like age took a toll on them, but are still watchable. He made the commercials when he left the Walter Lantz studio (this is also after MGM).I've purchased this DVD for several friends and everyone was really happy with it. I recommended it for Tex Avery fans and fans of old school cartoons. I also recommend getting "Tex Avery's Droopy", "The Woody Woodpecker and Friends Classic Cartoon Collection Vol. 1" (contains the stuff he made while working for Walter Lantz), and "The Compleat Tex Avery" laserdisc set.

I like the classics and love the old school animation

Not the best quality of transfers, especially the "extras". They looked like they came from VHS tapes. The media is DVD-R.I wasn't very impressed with the collection. I didn't feel ripped off, but don't expect too much if you buy one.

Was seriously disappointed that more porky pig cartons than Tex Avery, which is what I thought I was buying. Wouldn't recommend to serious Tex Avery fans.

Not the cartoon what I am looking for. I wanted the whole Collection of Tex avery.

If you've come here looking for a complete collection of Tex Avery MGM cartoons, sadly, this is not it. In fact, as of mid-2019, the only complete collection of Tex Avery available in the United States and Canada is on laser disc. Fortunately, Warner has released most of the Tex Avery MGM library on DVD and Blu-ray---but the toons are scattered across a spectrum of classic MGM films and one Tex Avery collection, "Droopy: The Complete Theatrical Collection." Of the 67 cartoons Tex directed for MGM, only nine are not available.
