It really works!
I was doubtful when I bought this, but it really works. It’s like a light lead pencil. So if your expecting dark lines and writing, this isn’t it. But if being a little lighter doesn’t bother you, it’s great! It’s dark enough to see clearly.

Skips worse than a bad ballpoint and misleading quantity in listing
TL;DR: Listing lies about quantity. Do not buy unless you just want a mostly-useless piece of metal that's shaped like a pencil sitting around as a conversation piece. It writes as smoothly as a first-time driver learning how to brake.Details:This listing claimed to be for a 5-pack when I ordered $3.20/count but now the quantity has been removed from the headline of the listing (though the $3.20/count still shows) but I received only 1x body and 2x screw-in tips (so, not even 5 pieces total in the box if they were counting the body and screw-in tips as separate pieces). This item may be worth the $3.20 but it is NOT worth 15. Even cheap $0.10 ball points work better than this and it is in *no* way a replacement for a pen or pencil. It's a novelty at best and actively damaging at worst.Writing tests performed on the following:• Cardboard - I screwed in one of the tips and attempted to write on the cardboard carton in which the pen was delivered. The line was indiscernible on the brown cardboard without catching the light perfectly.• Lined notebook paper - Left almost no line at my initial writing position with normal hard pencil writing pressure so I rotated and tried again to similar result. Rotating again the tip felt very scratchy (like a cheap fountain pen nib) but it began to lay a line before it caught the paper and tore a small hole in it where I was writing.>>NOTE<< Before continuing my tests I lapped the tip on some cheap paper before I moved to a bit of wet/dry polishing paper to try to smooth out the imperfections in the tip that may catch and tear paper.• 20lb laser paper - when pressing hard enough to lay down a legible line, the tip catches the paper and jerks it around and it is a struggle to pull the pen along. When pressing light enough for the pen to not catch as often, the writing is barely legible and writing smoothly is impossible.• Blank Journal Paper - Some rollerballs and fountain pens have trouble with this paper so I wasn't expecting it to work all that well and I was right. The pen skips and catches like I noticed in the lined notebook paper but now that I had written with it for a couple of hours I was a bit more ready for the catches and was able to keep from actually tearing the page but the constant starts-and-stops meant that to write even a couple of sentences was impossibly frustrating.Overall, I, unfortunately, have only one thing good to say about this pen, the blue color of the shaft is quite pleasant and feels good in the hand so if you are just *acting* like you're writing (i.e. in a stage performance) it would look nice from a distance.

Great but
The tip does wear down over time and the writing can be erased

Fun desk toy
Fun little desk toy. Don't really use it for anything just to show people. It rights but the line is thick. Maybe sharpening it would work but who has time for that.

It's okay at best.
It looks great! Has a great concept. However, the writing is VERY faint when I tried writing in my notebook. I can hardly see it. The weight is great, feels great in the hand, but for $11 its not worth it.

Special unique pencil/ pen
Do you like having something not one else has?Are you shopping for that person who has everything? Then this is the gift you want to purchase. It writes very smooth, and does not smudge. The pen has some weight, it is solid, it does not feel cheap. The special writing element does screw on and off as needed. This had not effected the user of it for me.I loved this pen so much I bought one for those special people in my life.Get one!!!

Very light lines... not usable
Don’t buy this. It barely shows up on white paper. Very faint lines and you have to push very hard for it to do even that. A lead pencil shows up much darker. It’s pretty though

Great product!
Can’t stop using it! You have to apply some pressure for it to write really dark but I got used to it really quickly.
