Got this so I could stream from my switch. Connected it to my laptop then back to my TV so I can still play on a large screen. Great product for the price.

I was a bit sceptical about this product before I ordered as I hadn't seen many reviews, and it wasn't a 'name' brand. From what I'd found online people were saying it was great once the firmware was updated.Since ordering I've used this unit to record three or four 1080p videos from a Raspberry Pi 4 and it has worked flawlessly. I did find my old 2012 Mac Mini didn't give enough power out over its USB 3.0 port to power the Pengo, but that was solved by using a dual power cable. If you are planning on using it over a USB 2.0 connection then I would be careful as I don't think the bandwidth is there to produce a great image. Modern computers with Super Speed USB 3.1 ports will be fine.The unit itself is sleek and understated, but has all the ports you could need. The main reason I took a gamble on this was because it had audio out and mic in options to record voiceovers etc - something a lot of the competition lacks. It will also pass through a 4K signal so you can still use your 4K TV or monitor as an output while simultaneously recording in 1080p60.I ended up using OBS and it picked up the Pengo as a video capture device with no driver installation required. Overall I am pleased with the device and would definitely recommend to others.

After reading other reviews I had mixed feelings whether to purchase this but after looking at some online videos of others who had success it was worth a try especially at this low price. I was pleasantly surprised how small the device is and its all-aluminium build. I am using it for live video production to get a feed from my professional camera into my PC then streaming via OBS. The small size is great for travelling and I can just put it in my camera bag, the rubber/foam base is nice and keeps the device in place. Setting up was easy literally plug and play, I read another review about frame dropouts and under my testing I had 0% dropouts and zero issues. I also tested the 4K pass-through and this also worked flawlessly. There was also no lag which was a bonus and the sound synced up fine. For the price you simply cannot go wrong and I will be buying a couple more of these. Would I recoment it for the value/money DEFINITELLY. However has a few audio issues at times. you can get around it by using the headphone jack as the audio source that will have way less noise. The weird thing is it only tends to happen when passing signal to an external monitor...curious

Can be hit and miss, therefore temperamental. When it works, a great product, but sometimes sound quality goes or the picture quality. Frustrating.

After switching from a big brand capture card, I wanted something to allow me to play games in 4K, but stream in 1080p. I was hoping Pengo could do it, but the capture card struggles to be picked up via OBS. If you're thinking of buying whilst using OBS, have a second think.
