Aged Cow Dung has been used in the Indian subcontinent for thousands of years as a renewable source of energy and as an excellent fertiliser for the soil. Compared to wood, burning cow dung releases less harmful gases into the environment. It is cheaper and has disinfectant properties that kill harmful germs and bacteria. It also holds spiritual and religious value and can be used in all kinds of Hawan/Puja ceremonies. The best way to use aged cow dung cakes is to mix it with some moist potting soil and compost and letting it sit for a few weeks before planting.
