The head joint is 95% of the sound
The founder of this Boston maker worked for Powell Flutes, so he knows how to cut a head joint. What the flute is made out of also has very little to do with the sound produced. To learn how to produce a good sound is what beginners need and this flute will provide that. After a few years playing the instrument, you can upgrade to vented "open hole" keys for tracking difficult passages, and silver, gold, or even platinum will last indefinitely if cared for.
