Using For Years
These looks exactly like the Silica packets I purchased 20 years ago but with different logo. Great for my booty collection keeping them dry and rust free. Jim K.

Bunch of Silica Gel in a Box
The product is exactly what you think it is. It's just a big box of silica gel. The sheer amount of it is good for keeping the insides of small spaces dry, i.e. cabinets, storage spaces, closets, etc. I use it under the sink since I spill water on the inside of the sink cabinet all the time. It's never smells musty and feels humid since. Works really well. The fact it's contained in a recyclable box is nifty, too.

recharge it first, seems to be working better now.
Came in a sealed bag that I quickly opened then threw this in my safe. I didn't notice the humidity going down after a couple days but then I remembered someone else stating that they had to "recharge" the silica on the first use and the indicator on the bottom was useless. Well, when I first got this the indicator on the bottom wasn't very clear. Not sure if it was spent of fully charged, it only says that you should recharge the silica when the dot in the center turns light green. On mine it looked like a dark grey...so I assumed that means it's not used up. I'm going to go off my box being the same as the one the other reviewer had: the indicator is pretty much useless. After I put this in my oven for 3 hours at 275 F, I put it back in the box and put it back in my safe. The humidity is dropping nicely now only after barely an hour. So my recommendation for anyone who picks this up is to just go ahead and recharge the silica on the first use as soon as you open up the bag. Worst case you will waste 3 hours drying out your already dry silica but it's better to be safe than sorry.

no rust
I have been using a box of this to keep some tools free from rust for a few months now and so far so good. I keep it in a toolbox with a fair seal on it to create a mini dry environment. It seems to be working fine. I do recommend them for small spaces.

Good cheap alternative to a dehumidifier bar!
Bought this because there is not a plug nearby to use an electrical bar, and the safe is located in a cold part of the house on a marble floor. Didn't want to take any chances with moisture. This looks to be a good simple solution, and it has a built in monitor for dampness. I like that you can re-use it also!

holding up well 16 cf space
I am using these to balance a small 16cf cavity between old windows (in between the panes((long story but these are 4x8 windows in a 1970's custom sun room))...they are keeping the humidity in check perfectly and dried quickly (90 min) in an oven..they have a sock like bag in a cardboard box with a small humidity sticker...changes color based on reading ...and is accurate according to my moisture meter...works as advertised
