Cheap and dangerous
The first time we tried to use this second car, it started melting the controller casing! Something was wrong with the switch and it overheated within a few minutes. We sent it back for a replacement, but noticed recently that this one started melting too! This time it happened when the controller was off and sitting unused for a few weeks. This is very dangerous and my son is heartbroken that we will have to get rid of the toy. :-(

Good gift
My son received these for Christmas and has really enjoyed building. It’s definitely helpful to have more than one kit to build a big enough track.

Junk but your only option for replacement car. Get a different toy for your kid.
Bought the zoom tube kit and a second kit for more tubes. The car gears stripped once my kid attempted to run it on the carpet. Bought this replacement car for darned near the same price as an entire kit. After forbidding the kid from running this one on the carpet, it has lasted a bit longer, but is really cheaply built and way too many micro moving parts to last. I would NOT recommend buying this car if there was another choice, but guess what, there is no other choice. This is the only replacement car you can find. Generally you should stay away from zoom tubes, they are cheaply built, the tubes do not attach with smooth joints, and the gearing in the cars fail easily. ALso the remote control forward backward switch quickly degrades. This is not a quality toy and even worse craftsmanship. Pick another toy for your kid. Take it from a dad who wasted $70 on a couple kits and cars. Oh ya, it takes two complete kits to have any fun at all with the tubes. Kit is a rip-off.
