This lamp works as expected. To tell the truth, I didn’t know what to expect exactly in terms of quality, but I was pleasantly surprised. It’s well made and looks nice on or off.The base is made of plastic and it has a compartment for 3 AAA batteries. It also has a micro-USB port so that it can be connected to any USB power outlet like those from phones and tablets. Incidentally, I tried connecting mine to a USB battery-pack and it did not work. I’m not sure it the current draw wasn’t strong enough to keep the battery pack on, or if the battery pack wasn’t supplying enough current. But this lamp being made with LEDs, it’s more likely that it’s the prior reason to blame.The acrylic T-Rex form came covered with plastic to protect it from scratches on both sides (these must be removed), and it seems to be of nice enough quality. My 7 year-old loves it and turns it on every night in the room.The lamp has one button on the base. Press it to turn it on, tap it once to change the color, double-tap it to make it cycle through all the colors, and long-press it to turn it off.If there is anything I would improve on the lamp, it would be to make the base a little heavier so that the lamp is a bit more stable. Otherwise, it’s just great for kids.

My youngest daughter has to have a nightlight but My 12 yr old daughter hated having 1.... she is however a huge trex enthusiast.... so this ended up being the PERFECT compromise... it gives off just enough light for youngest too see by...Only issue is when the batteries start to die you cant change colors anymore... but if you plug it in no worries... i have this one up on a shelf so the battery option is nice.

This product was not what I was expecting. I couldn’t get the back sticker off the dinosaur like some of the other reviewers have stated. It is much too bright for sleeping. The button is not an actual button and so it is difficult to tell when you are pushing it to turn on or change colors. The fact that you can change the colors is cool. My 3 year old son loves it and likes changing it to all the different colors. I was hoping it was some holographic image that would be projected with the light but it is just a piece of plastic plugged into the light source. Overall, I was very underwhelmed with this product. I have found much better nightlights over my years of parenting than this one.

Bought for son, worked a couple of weeks and then it comes on whenever it feels like. You can press the button 7 times and it won't come on. Come back later press it once and it works. Not worth the replacement as this "3D" illusion is not executed well at all. The glass is not even cut in the shape of the model I purchased. Sits on a table untouched now.

upon it arrived, we tried if it works without a battery. I plugged in but no success. Then we placed the batteries. The turned on and worked. However, there is no on and off button. You have to take the batteries taken off. I, later on, try plugging into the wall then it works but it was lagging. It turns in after a certain time. Still, there is no button but plug out was easier. it does not look like a 3D exactly but it is something.

Very disappointed in this product and the person who shipped it. There was a sticker that will not come off the back side of the night light that obstructs the view. Also scratches all over it. Will not order again.

I’m not exactly sure what I was expecting but this wasn’t it. I got it for my nephew and it just isn’t at all like what I thought it would be. I mean it’s not awful but it doesn’t illuminate well and it doesn’t look like the picture.

If by 3D you mean a 2 dimensional clear Dino cut out that has a light underneath and than yeah “3D”. Gave as a gift to young child who loves dinosaurs and is still learning about being responsible for his things so at this price it’s super cool for him and if it gets broken I won’t feel so bad.
