Exactly What it needs to be.
So as someone who made the switch to futons 4 months ago and never looked back, I thought it might be nice to have a a sort of topper for the cold winter months and for a guest. This mattress suits those purposes perfectly. The soft flannel top adds a bit of warmth underneath, and its just the right thickness and softness to add a nice comfortable layer on top of my futon. So that way when i have a guest, it feels not quite so futon-on-the-floor-hard. It also makes a great sitting mattress for dad-and-son chill time or watching movies in front of the couch.Dont be scared off by some of the negative reviews, but be sure you know what you're getting. If you are using as a topper, check the measurements of the base, the product is maybe two or three inches shorter on the width side of things, and an inch on the length short, so i need to get a larger size up.

Here’s My Take
I was looking forward to being able to write this review... I received my item. I ordered a GREY/FULL. The delivery time was as stated. I read ALL the reviews prior to ordering, compared to similar products and took my time before ordering. My reasons for choosing: COLOR. MEASUREMENTS. 3lb WEIGHT. ABILITY TO ROLL UP. 1-2 IN” THICKNESS. INVESTMENT (price).Obviously customers expectations/perceptions/needs are related to their lifestyle. I’m still BUSTING UP over the “Large Bathroom Mat” review. Here’s my take:Yes, it’s soft.Yes it’s thin and should not be a purchase for those seeking a “mattress like” cushion. Customarily we sleep on futons. I AGREE with other reviews and this item should NOT be the reason you’re choosing it. It’s NOT of the same caliber and the connotations in its descriptions CAN be misleading.I have an 18lb goose down mattress topper. I’ve purchased a no spring mattress in a box, so I WAS LOOKING FOR SOMETHING LIGHT & SIMPLE.My intentions is to also be able to travel with it without being big bulky, but I didn’t want a sleeping bag or camping cot cushion. It comes with a tote, which is a PLUS PLUS for me. I’m use to Queen measurements & the FULL did seem tiny - yet matched the descriptive size.As far as the price, well... I wouldn’t say it’s a $70-$80 item. $50-$55/absolutely! Especially since a single towel or pillow case can range around $15 each. Memory foam, NO! If that’s the word manufacturers are using to say it won’t deflate easily, lose its shape or flatten instantly, then I’d have to argue my point as Robert DeNiro did in Casino by insisting all the muffins have the exact same amount of blueberries. The manufactures photo resembles a large/fluffy item. This must be an Alice in Wonderland size room. I would compare it more to a car seat pad. PAD, NOT CUSHION.For me, this item is exactly what I need.

Takes forever to ship.
I bought this mat so I could have friends sleepover on the floor of my dorm and it did not work out the way I expected it to. It took soo so long to ship (like maybe a month) and when I received it it was thin. I had to fold it in half to make it even remotely comfortable.

its cheap...so, thats really my fault for buying it
this is the first review that I have ever written, because I have never felt the need to really go out of my way (laziness) to write one, even for things that are pretty low quality or damaged. This however, made a lazy person like me want to write a review just to help out a fellow E-shopper. it is definitely a mattress topper. not a shikibuton, because I recently got rid of one ive had for years that I ordered from japan and the quality and form are completely different. if youre fat, with minimal back issues, sleeping practically on the ground shouldn't be an issue (im saying from personal experience) and if youre willing to spend a couple weeks sleepless so you can adapt to the change, then buy this. im too lazy to return It, so I will do that. if not, you might as well save the money, buy a better quality item, or just take a comforter and sleep on it. I actually, out of curiosity compared one of my comforters to this item and found my comforter to have more thickness. I will post photos later, but it is 1 inch thick, less even.

I found my new bed.
Warning: if you are not used to floor sleeping, what you have undoubtably read is true: this mat is pretty thin. I’ve seen some say that you would be better suited with a comforter. I would have to disagree as this if very sturdy, does have a thickness to it, and is very breathable. If you’re used to a more conventional sleeping situation, this may be too extreme for you!Now having said that, if you already know how great for your back sleeping on the floor is, and how much space it saves, this glorified mattress topper is the best sleep I’ve ever had. I love how neatly and easily it folds up, I didn’t have to air out any weird orders like you have to with those camper mattresses, etc. I’ll be using this until it withers away or otherwise becomes usable. At that time, I’ll probably just buy another. :)

Mattress is comfortable to lie on
I bought this mattress to lay on top of the wood floor. Mattress is not as thick as i thought. However, it is comfortable and does not hurt back. I use it mainly to lie and chill and watch tv at the same time. It is comfortable and better than lying on the sofa all the time. It can be folded and lightweight. Easily move it around or store it in the closet. It is great to take nap on.

Not thick but soft
I'm satisfied. The tatami mattress was not thick but soft and suited my needs. What I need is a mattress that can be placed on the floor to protect my waist and spine. If you're looking for a thick mattress, it's probably not best for you.

Extremely thin and light foam - yoga mat !
Very light, soft upper cover and thin (foam) material. Perhaps only for yoga excercise. Its so thin, even though i put this mattess (? I think its a yoga mat) over thick floor mat i woke up numerous time overnight and had a rough sleep with sore joints in the morning. I prefer to sleep on floor due to back issues but this was another unfortunate experience. This will only work if its thickness is more firm but not soft like

definitely not a futon mattress
extremely thin and poor quality material, has straps on it? so I'm more inclined to believe that this is just a falsely advertised mattress cover. if you are looking for a futon that serves the purpose of sleeping on without anything underneath it DO NOT buy this product.
