If You Struggle After Childbirth… Please Read This
I’ve dealt with chronic constipation for years due to childbirth changes and medication. If you’re in the same situation, I hope what has helped me might give you ideas to ➡️ discuss with your doctor. Please talk to a provider before trying anything new! What I keep on hand: ⭐ Ultra-size tampon (for *temporary* internal support) ⭐ Fleet suppositories ⭐ Petroleum jelly ⭐ Medical exam gloves ⭐ Optional: a foot-stool for positioning (like a Squatty Potty) Here’s my routine: 1️⃣ I put on exam gloves. 2️⃣ When the urge to go first starts, I insert a tampon as intended. For me, this gives gentle support to the back vaginal wall—similar to “vaginal splinting”—and it helps my body signal the need to pass stool sooner. 3️⃣ I use a Fleet suppository according to the package directions. I usually feel the urge within minutes. 4️⃣ I apply petroleum jelly generously around the rectal area, and I place a small amount just inside the opening with a gloved finger. 5️⃣ I stay nearby and let the suppository work. Gentle movement usually helps me. When the urge increases, I sit with my feet elevated (a Squatty Potty works for this) and I go. I always remove the tampon afterward. This routine has helped prevent the stool from becoming too large right before I try to pass it, which used to be the most painful part for me. The petroleum jelly also helps everything move more comfortably. I love that the Fleet suppositories are basically just glycerin. They come right back out when you have your bowel movement. They provide a little lubrication on their own. They aren’t painful to insert, though the first time is a little uncomfortable if you’ve never used suppositories before. Otherwise—no burning or anything. They give a strong, natural-seeming urge to go. Why I use a tampon and why it helps so much: The back vaginal wall sits right against the rectum. After childbirth, that wall can weaken and create a small space between the two areas (a rectocele). During a bowel movement, the pressure of bearing down can push stool into that space, causing it to gather and become larger right before exiting. Using a tampon right before I go gives temporary support to that wall, so stool isn’t pushed into that pocket while I’m having a bowel movement. This keeps my stool at a more manageable size and reduces pain. There are medical devices made specifically for internal support, but tampons have worked well for me because I already keep them on hand. I only do this because I’m familiar with using tampons safely, and 👋 I always remember to remove it at the end. I truly hope this helps someone else the way it helped me. I have to use all of the above steps together. The Fleet suppositories are definitely a key part.

The 15-Minute Countdown of Destiny
Listen, I’m not saying these changed my life, but I am saying I now have a very complicated relationship with my hallway runner. I’ll be honest: I had been "stuck" for so long that I’m pretty sure my internal organs were starting to pay property taxes. I was more backed up than the I-95 on a holiday weekend. Enter the Fleet Glycerin Suppositories. The Experience: The Insertion: They call it the "Gentle Glide Tip." I call it the "Peace Offering." Thanks to the aloe vera and the cone shape, it went in smoother than a cheesy pickup line at a dive bar. No drama, no trauma. The Wait: The box says "15 minutes to 1 hour." They aren't kidding. At the 12-minute mark, I heard a sound like a distant cello being played by a very angry ghost. By minute 14, I was reconsidering every life choice I’d made since 2012. The Payoff: At minute 16, the "unblocking" began. It wasn't just relief; it was an exorcism. I’m pretty sure I lost three pounds and a repressed memory from the third grade. Why You Need the 150-Count (Pack of 3): Stimulant-Free: No jitters or weird stomach somersaults. Just a polite, yet firm, "Eviction Notice" to your colon. The "Aloe" Factor: It’s like a spa day for your dignity. Volume: With 150 of these bad boys, I am now the most powerful person in my neighborhood. I have enough "fast relief" to clear out a small stadium. Pro Tip: Do not—I repeat, DO NOT—decide to "test one out" right before you have to leave for a job interview or a first date. This is a "stay within a 10-foot radius of porcelain" type of situation. Final Verdict: 10/10. I feel lighter, faster, and slightly more aerodynamic. Fleet is the MVP of my medicine cabinet.
