Easy Replacement
This glass break detector was exact replacement for my defective one. Easy installation and enabled my alarm with no additional configuring. Pricing and shipping were excellent. Highly recommend

Great glass-break detector
Firstly, I am an advanced DIY-er and NOT a professional security systems installer. Having said that, I installed my 16 zone system about 16 years ago and recently one of Glass-Break detectors became overly sensitive and was generating false alarms even with the sensitivity adjustment at the minimum setting. I purchased this Honeywell FG-730 as a replacement for the failing detector. The FG-730 appears solidly made and the unit has an attractive appearance. Since I do not own the recommended Honeywell Intellisense FG-701 Micro-Flex Tester, I started with the sensitivity adjustment at mid-range and tweaked it until the new Glass-Break detector responds reliably to my "simulated breaking glass" noise test. (a large bunch of car keys dropped on the ceramic tile floor). The ambient noise sensors function properly. I am confident the detector will respond well to an actual breaking glass which I hope will never actually happen. One thing I found out, that the latch jumper pins come enabled by default, so I removed the jumper as I do not want the red LED latched on after an event has occurred.

Remove "Latch Jumper" to trigger security panel.
My neighbor purchased a FG-730, and I connected it to her Honeywell Vista-20P security panel. A few observations. 1) You must remove the "Latch Jumper" in order for the sensor to signal the security panel. With the Latch Jumper in place, the relay in the sensor never triggers. It took me a while to figure this out, and the instructions never mentions this. 2) The instructions that came with the sensor have a lot to be desired. A) No indications that you must remove the Latch Jumper so the security panel will be notified of glass breakage. B) No information on what the 3 LEDs indicate. Green - Glass has been broken. Yellow - Glass has had a "thud" (What the instructions call the "flex"). Basically someone struck the glass but not broken the glass. Red - Both a "thud" and glass breakage has happened and the sensor has triggered the security panel (only if the Latch Jumper is removed). The sensor has to get a "thud" and glass breakage to trigger the security panel. This is so you do not get false alarms.

Fantastic
I bought this following suggestions from various forums. It works very well and rarely triggers a false alarm (thankfully all have been when I am at home and the alarm system isn't armed). Generally though it works extremely well. Too bad it has been hard to find lately.

Item as described, well packaged, timely delivery. Easy installation, only a few minutes to disconnect the three wires and reattach to the new sensor. Be sure to test the sensor with a glass break sound, then you'll be able to set your alarm.

Very old worn out looking box! Going to return. 😖
I haven’t tried to install it. The box it is in honestly looks like it’s 20 years old! Hard to believe! I will take a photo and send it in. I am not happy with the condition.
