Entire family uses these regularly to decrease the volume in public places. So much more comfortable than anything else we've tried.

Great earplugs!
My wife and I went on a long trip abroad, including a long cruise. She snores and I'm a very light sleeper. Normally, at home I sleep with a loud fan going. On the trip, however, we didn't have the fan.I've used all sorts of earplugs in the past with disappointing results. I decided to give the Howard Leight Ll1 Lite Foam Earplugs a try. I'm really glad I did. They performed better than any earplugs I've ever used. Actually, they're pretty amazing!I followed the preparation and insertion instructions on the package (they're easy, but important to follow), and once they're inserted I could hear the earplugs expanding in my ear canal. Once fully expanded, I felt isolated from a sound perspective. It's like turning the volume control to mute! The only problem I encountered was after using them for a couple of weeks, I could tell that they were compacting the earwax in my ears and my ears were popping when I swallowed. I decided to experiment with the earplugs to see if I could keep them from causing the earwax issues. These earplugs are unusually thick and long compared to other earplugs I've used. (They're made of very soft material, so they're very comfortable to wear.) I took a pair of scissors and cut off about 1/8" to 1/4" from the tips of the earplugs, and I cut off a sliver from the side of each earplug. The earwax problem went away without adversely affecting the sound-deadening properties of the earplugs. I was very happy with the results.I recommend these earplugs. They're really effective!

Great value and work great.
These are some really nice earplugs. Block tons of noise, pretty easy to insert and are super comfortable. I can't even tell they are in except it is so quiet. I work night shift, so having it quiet in the day makes sleeping much easier. Before getting these, my kids would sometimes wake me up (not intentionally, just kid stuff), with these I never hear them.I have been using the same pair for about 2 weeks (2-3 times a week) and they still look and feel new (I keep them in a plastic film container when not in use). At this rate, this package of 50 pair will last me for years.edit: I have found that after using a pair around 6-7 times they are harder to put in (they don't stay compressed long enough to insert properly). Still, even if you use them every night, you will get about a years use from the entire pack, but for my usage pattern, the pack of 50 will last me 2 years.Update 2/2018: I am still on my original pack of 50 pair, and still love them. I also started using them when I ride my motorcycle, they work great for this also. Blocks out tons of wind noise, but I can still hear car horns, sirens, etc.

Soft and effective
I've been using these earplugs for 10+ years, and they remain the best on the market for sleeping purposes. They’re soft, effective, and comfortable -- no irritation or discomfort that would keep you from falling asleep. I can easily sleep 6+ hours without being disturbed by my noisy neighbors.

Larger than the older version but still good
These are without doubt the most comfortable earplugs I've ever used. I have inexplicably small ear canals considering my very large head, and these fit pretty well. They don't make my ears sore overnight like most earplugs do. They're very good at sound dampening, and reusable. However, they are a bit bigger than this exact same model number was a few years ago, and they don't fit my ears as well as they used to. They still fit reasonably well, but they do not slide as far into the ear canal and therefore do not provide quite as much sound dampening as in the past.Still recommend them highly, especially if you have sensitive ears. They are high quality, and definitely worth the money.

Great Product. Perfect for Sleeping. Third-Party Sellers Should Deliver Individually Wrapped Pairs as the Picture Shows.
I work third shift and sleep during the day---roughly 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. As such, there is a lot more commotion I must sleep through---next door neighbors playing basketball, downstairs neighbor blasting music, etc. Therefore, earplugs are essential to me. I've been using the Howard Leight MAX earplugs for about a year, but when I recently went online to restock, I found the price had risen. I decided to try this model, Howard Leight's Laser Lite earplugs. I'm glad I did. I find them much more comfortable since they are less dense and create less pressure in my ear canals. Their NRR (noise reduction rating) is less than the MAX model earplugs, but I haven't found that to be a problem; I have slept well every night I have used them. I also find they nearly always stay in my ears through the whole night---and I don't put the earplugs that far deep into my ear canal. If I did, I suspect they would never fall out. If you're looking for a good pair of earplugs for sleeping, I recommend these. One sour note: I was disappointed to receive a single bag filled with earplugs. It's not a big deal, but I appreciate the ease and cleanliness of individually wrapped pairs: I can transport them quickly and easily by tossing them in my backpack. I can also give pairs away for friends and family to try. It's not Howard Leight's fault, and I will not deduct any stars here (I'll do that at seller feedback). Third-party sellers are responsible for making sure they sell the exact items described on Amazon, and too many lack diligence in this regard.

Buyer beware
I ordered the 50 pack set and received one pack of earplugs. I was shorted the other 49. Now I have to drive across town to return one pack earplugs to UPS. Very disappointing.
