Royal Berkey Water Filter With 4 Black Filters & 4 PF-2 Fluoride Filters

As always ... love my Berkeys. Best water filtering system there is to buy. Can filter pond water ... so great for when the zombies start contaminating the water. So if the wicked witch of the east shows up you can throw wonderfully tasting water with no chemicals in it and kill her with the most powerful pure water around. Easy to use, just pour it in the top and let it filter through. I recommend getting the water spigot that shows how much water is in it. Wouldn't want to be crawling to the Berkey in the middle of the night parched and desperately needing a drink of water to find that it is empty which can happen when you depend on minions to refill what they take. The torture ... which is what it will be when you have to drink water from the faucet.The filter lasts for up to 10 years with occasional cleaning of the filters. We have 4 filters for our family of 6 and others that seem to spontaneously spawn at our house during feeding frenzies and it manages quite well. As an added bonus, the container shines to double as a mirror and self-esteem booster as you watch yourself guzzle refreshing purified water and say, "Who's that sexy person improving their health ... Oh that's me!"

There is no denying the Berkey is a leader in water purification!For those who love lists I will break it down for you and then you can read my review below if you feel so inclined:PROS:- EXCELLENT water filtration. One of the best- Easy to set up and easy to use- Easy to clean and maintain- Royal size easily manages our family of 6 water needs- So shiny and pretty! Hey these things matter...CONS:- Its big. Like really big. No counter space can cause an issue. They do make Berkey stands...but they are not cheap.- It is quite the investment. Buuuut in the long haul no where near as expensive as buying filtered water or ER trips for chronic diarrhea and vomiting.My family lived in a city where the water source was anything but safe. They where frequently in the news for having such a poor water system that was often contaminated. When we first moved there we where constantly sick and simply couldn't figure out why. I had a Brita Pitcher filter system so that was good enough right???After like the bazillion trips to the ER (just a small exaggeration) a doctor suggested it might be from the city water. I immediately looked into a better filtration system and of course Berkey was the first thing that popped up. I am the type who buys NOTHING without reviewing the crap out of it first. After a month of research we ordered our Royal Berkey system with the added fluoride filters. I was nervous that we had just wasted money on a big shiny water bottle...but my worries where soon laid to rest. sure enough...Taa daaa! Guess what...no more sickness! Seriously within a week we where all feeling better and within two weeks no more sickness.

After about three months of using this filter, I can guarantee that if you want good water that tastes like water, this is it! It is kind of a pain to clean it at first and to set it up, but it is well worth the struggle. The spigot did leak the first try, but after I took it out and tightened the screw a second time, it was good to go. It has never leaked since. As for the quality of the water, it is simply amazing and gets better with time. For the first several runs, the water does taste a little weird because the filters take a while to prime completely but after that you will have healthy water that tastes like spring water. As a matter of fact, I have never drunk water that tasted as good before so now I am even drinking way more of it! And I filter tap water, imagine that! I could not live without my Berkey filter anymore. Life just isn't the same without quality water. The goal now is to go from a body made of 75% water back to 95% (how it's supposed to be). This filter is definitely helping me with my goal. It also filters the water at an incredible speed, just about an hour or so, if you fill up the top container full. Moreover, the filters last for quite a long time so you don't have to worry about replacing them often. But it really depends on how much water you consume or use for cooking, etc. In my case (only rarely do I use it for cooking, however I drink a lot), I will replace the fluoride filters once a year and the black filters every couple years. Another interesting fact is that this filter works better than its competitor, filtering more elements (including viruses) at an increased speed rate. The material of the metal containers and plugs are also better. Trust me, I checked. The spigot is made out of plastic which is ideal because you don't have to worry about rusting (but you can always replace it with a stainless steel spigot if you want). It also has huge flow - fills your glass of water in no time! It also goes for about the same price as the competitor, if not a little cheaper. I am really glad about this purchase! I am even losing weight now, since I am drinking more water, instead of eating. Thank you Berkey Water Filter. You are the best!

Our city water isn't known for being particularly high quality. Sure, it's probably safe, but it looks like pond water and has so much chlorine that it tastes and smells like pool water. Makes you want to move to my place, doesn't it?Anywho, put the gross water in the top and you get beautiful delicious clear water out of the bottom. Plain and simple. Does what it's supposed to do.FWIW, I compared this thoroughly with the Propur filter and this removes more contaminants from the water. From what I can tell, it's worth the extra money.
