Wanted to update my older PC with a faster CPU. Was running a dell with a intel i7-920 that ran about 2.67ghz. Did some research online and say my board was compatible with this model chip which ran about a GHz more. Arrived quickly and looked really good. Old heat sink was removed and cleaned well. Installed the chip, applied heat sink and cooler and booted right up. Definitely fast processing and loading all around. Definitely happy with the purchase and would highly recommend.

Reasonably price plus there was no need to deal with E to the bay sellers. Compared to the replaces W3530 Quad-Core it replaced. This processor is memory thirsty! But not offering much on gaming performance. For non-gaming usage it handles Windows applications at ease. The processor over all stays reasonably cooler than the W3530 during modest to heavy usage. However if PC gaming is your thing, you will truly need allot of physical RAM. In my experience 16 GB was the bare minimal. Many times the CPU load was with or at 80% and the system was transfixed. Many times freezing and suffering serious frame drops and a share of lag. All were experienced while gaming in Full Screen and Windowed mode at 2560x1440 during Ultra or max settings. I haven’t experienced a complete system crash as yet. So far Control+Alt+Delete interrupts flawlessly without complications when used during heavy processing.*Results from a 2010 Mac Pro 5,1 running Windows 10 Pro on a PCIe SSD adapter card.
