Used alone it would be slightly thicker than a thermarest camping pad and though it does not roll up very small was a nice choice for our family camping trip
I used this under an egg crate foam topper. It holds its air for a couple days which is longer than many similar type inflatables. As a base for our foam topper it definitely surpassed the comfort of our previous air mattress.
