Easy way to adapt 24VAC to 12VDC device
Used this to power a HVAC monitor system that uses 12VDC to my furnace 24AC supply so I would not need to use a separate wall wart power supply.

Great for adapting 16VAC doorbell voltage to 12VDC LED lighting.
I used this to power an LED street number sign off of doorbell voltage. Fortunately, the doorbell cable was three-wire. I had to hole saw the exterior wall to find the wire, and the converter fit into the resulting hole (which was ultimately covered by the sign).
