Excellent product and excellent value
I am a woodworker who uses both modern and antique tools, many of which are made from iron. I was introduced to camellia oil by another woodworker who swears by it. He was not wrong. As a rust prevention tool and light lubricant this stuff can't be beaten. I use it to protect my bandsaw table and tablesaw, and use it on all of my metal tools, including some vintage cast iron Stanley hand planes from the 40's. It has been tremendous. I've also started using this to 'wax' my jointer to ensure smooth progress and it has far outperformed my old wax treatments. Highly recommended.

Easy to apply, typical Japanese quality.
I use this oil at the end of the day whenever I use my pruners in the garden. After an alcohol wipe down, I spray camellia oil on the blades and lightly wipe the oil around. It is pleasant to use, and keeps the blades of my pruners protected from rust. The 8.3 oz spray dispenser meters the oil out well, and my bottle is lasting a long time. My use is for a home garden, and my pruners are not used daily, hence a bottle lasts long enough to make the price worth it. Now that I am in the habit of using it, I wouldn't be caught without this product in my garden shed.

Works well as sharpening stone lubricant. No smell.
I mis it with some mineral oil to use as a lubricant for sharpening. Works great. I had to replace a previous petroleum-based lubricant because the smell was killing me. This has no discernible smell. Also, it does leave a nice thin protective layer on the knife as others have stated. The spray nozzle was useless to me, but I pour it in another container for use.

Excellent for Tools and Handcare
I use this on my hand plane blades to chisels and even use it with restoring tools. A little goes a long way with this oil. I make a tool wax from a mix of this camellia oil and beeswax that works well for my tools whether it is gliding on wood or rust protection. Finally, it feels great on your hands especially during COVID with constant hand washing/sanitizing.I recommend camellia oil for rust prevention, despite the lack of food contact approval for this product, since the oil residue is more food friendly compared with more petroleum based rust inhibitors.

Great for Bonsai Tools
I practice bonsai, and have been holding off on buying protective oil for my tools. Having used this stuff a few times, I can see why it's the go-to oil.The bottle came with a spray pump, and I admit I had to pump it for quite some time before it actually came out. Once primed though, it produces a fine mist, which surprised me considering this is oil, and I'm used to a degree of viscosity. Not so with this stuff, the oil is probably the thinnest I have ever worked with, perfect for leaving a light protective coating on metal.I wish the pump spray was a bit easier to use, and I speculate that if I used it exclusively, I would waste a lot of oil. I've been dabbing a small amount on a cloth and wiping my tools after cleaning though and that seems to work great.Overall a must for anyone using carbon steel, or non-stainless forged tools.

Japanese quality oil - very good product for many uses
Amazing product and well worth the purchase price. Currently being used in a variety of ways. But it really showed its class when applied to a paper shredder. Made it smoother and quieter when it’s in use.Quality of the oil - extremely goodSize - okay. Wish it were a little largerStickiness - does not stick too much the surface it is applied to but coats it wellSprayer - would have like a straw like on a WD40 can for precision spraying. Otherwise be careful it will spray it a wide areaYou generally get what you pay for. It’s made in Japan and top notch. Yes it’s a bit more money but the quality of the product is very evident when you use it.
