Skylinkhome HU-318 Internet Hub for SmartPhone and Tablet Control

Works as advertised. There's a learning curve for configuring the device but once I figured everything out it works great. Being able to use your phone for home automation is convenient.There is a flaw in the system's software that only allows 10 timer entries to be saved. For example if you schedule a light to turn on and off then that requires two timer entries. Even if you group your devices into "zones" (as the manual calls it) or if your schedule only calls for lights to be turned off you are still going to reach this limit quickly.This limitation is a major oversight. Skylink should let their customers enter as many timers as they want (or at the very least increase the limit). This limitation is unpractical and cripples the device's usefulness. I wrote skylink's customer support and asked if they had a software update, but all I got was the standard "thank you for your interest" message.If timers are not a priority for you then this item will do the job. However if you are planning on scheduling when to turn your lights on and off, then you should look for better alternatives.

I usually read reviews, but did not in this case. That was a mistake. This product does not work. There is no documentation shipped with the product. The documentation on the web site is for an older version of the product and does not match this product. The user interface of the Android app is horrible - the people who designed it did not understand how to build a mobile app. I returned it for a refund. Shame, because in concept, it should be a winner.

Works great such a huge convenience to be able to arm and disarm the alarm system. Well worth it.

I purchased this device as well as multiple connected devices. Skylink is no longer supporting the mobile app that this device uses so the device is pretty much bricked and not usable. I don't suggest buying their devices. SmartHome has better features and they don't brick their products or make them unusable.

Just like most Skylink appliance/lamp receivers (and post from other buyer), this unit is too limited in the number of programs it can handle (10 max) So if you are looking for a hub control that can expand with your needs (control of lights, zones and alarm system), this hub simply won't be able to handle the requirements to a whole house. Waisted 3 hours of my time setting it up only to find that out...and ended up returning it.You get what you pay for, no more than that.

I have a number of devices from skylink. Now they dropped there app support for my android phone. They are stilling systems they know you can't get an app for? Why would anyone do that? I have three of the HU-318 not that old and I can't use them. Not good PR.

after several hours online and several calls to tech support, I'm returning it.just don't pair with my network.THEY ADMIT THAT THE HU-100 (that only come as a part of a useless kit at this point) work much better and didn't recommend to purchase the HU-318!!!
