A quick and easy fix
I hoped that this material might give me a few more miles on several pairs of favorite boots. The soles had become somewhat lopsided, worn low on the exterior heel by my way of walking (and by the way, Vibram soles sure ain't what they used to be). I used this material to bulk up those worn spots, putting 3/8 inch or so onto them along the edge of the soles. Not an artistic fix, just functional. Wow. I am impressed. It applies easily, it holds, and it compresses flat after a few days. I've got the use of these boots again. I also used it to reattach a flapping sole which had separated from a pair of athletic shoes. As I say, it holds. I'm glad I took a chance on it.

It works
I had my doubts about this product. First, I wondered whether there would be enough of it; was the tube big enough? Yes. There was plenty for what I needed it for: I glued the sole of my hiking boot back on. And this product does work; I hike a lot and the sole is still on. Also I repaired a tear in my waterproof boots and that also seems all right. I haven't given it as much of a test because we haven't had that much rain but so far so good. Fumes could be a problem. I worked outdoors and left the boots on the carport 72 hours to be sure they were properly dried. I would buy this product again.

Does what I need it to do.
Pretty much exactly what I needed. I've managed to keep a couple of pair of work shoes up and running for months longer than they'd normally have worn out due to excessive heel wear. I'm a big guy, and that tends to be a problem with the added weight. One negative, and the loss of a star, is that the shoe goo, even when left to cure for days, is not as durable as the original vulcanized rubber heel. I have to apply a re-surfacing about every 2 weeks (Keep in mind that I'm big. Someone lighter than me might experience better results.) I'd really wish the formula could be tweaked somehow to increase durability. Still, it is easier on the wallet to buy a tube of Shoe Goo every so often, rather than plunk down dozens of dollars on replacement shoes. I prefer the black to the semi-clear yellow original as it looks so much better on black soles, especially when scuffed up.

The Other Shoe Goo
Are you kidding me! ? I have been a casual user of clear Shoe Goo for a lot of years. Lately I've been buying those cheap $20-25 black sneakers to wear all summer and I can wipe out two or three pairs. I used clear Goo on them and got some extra mileage but it wasn't long lasting. I saw a friend using the black Goo on a truck inner tube (for the pool) and he told me there was no comparison with the clear stuff. So I ordered a tube and it's unbelievable. I glued three toes that pulled loose and next day I took them outside and kicked them around the yard. Nothing happened. They held tight so I'm fixing everywhere the thread is broken and the soles are worn out. It dries harder than the clear type but it's still flexible. Good stuff. I recommend it. I'm sure it's has a limit but I haven't found it.

Messy to Work With Sugru Moldable Glue strips Work Better
I just used this to repair some rubber soles houseshoes that were getting worn at the heels. I have tried for three years to find more houseshoes like these because they are scuffs that hold a diabetic insole in place. Since I can’t replace them I am prolonging the life by repairing. I have four pair. I found Shoe Goo to be quite messy and hard to squeeze out of the tube. I will have to see how it holds up. I had previously ordered Sugru moldable glue and used it to repair them several months ago. It worked great but I didn’t order enough so they wore out pretty fast. Sugru is much easier to use because it comes in moldable strips that aren’t messy at all. I just ordered more because I know it will leave a good bond and wear well.

Great stuff to repair hiking boots.
The glue worked to repair the sole of the hiking boots. The rubber was peeled back on both boots and with this glue we were able to glue both soles back on with lots left to repair some of the other loose rubber on the boots. It's messy, but you just have to be careful not to get it on yourself and other places you don't want to glue. Read the directions and have vaseline to use on the threads of the tube so the cap unscrews when you reuse the glue. Good stuff! Definitely recommend for rubber shoe repair.

Fixed a pair of dress shoes
I had a pair of black dress shoes, Belgian loafers to be exact, which had developed a hole through the sole at the ball of my foot on the right shoe. I had tried super glue, caulk, nothing worked... it would crack away and leave the hole empty again. Not only did this black shoe glue do the trick, but I used three layers and covered the whole entire sole of the shoe. In other words, it not only plugged the whole up quite nicely, but added much needed extra thickness to the bottom of the dress shoe. I wore it in the rain it is completely water proof. It also dries rather quite quickly. Going to use it on other shoes as well just to give worn down soles and heels extra thickness. I highly recommend this product.

2nd Order as good as the 1st in all ways
I received Shoe Goo on time as promised. As of this date I have affixed the soles back on the shoes but have not worn them yet. The instructions said although the Goo would be dried in 24 hours but not fully cured for 72 hours. I left my shoes in "the clamps" for at least 80 hours. I WILL UPDATE THIS REVIEW LATER WHEN CAN GIVE A BETTER EVALUATION, which I expect to be 5 Stars from what I've been told by others. Please check back later.. EdWell. it's my 2nd order for Shoe Goo So what's that tell you? 1) I've had several shoes come apart at the soles and 2) This stuff works. That's it! Ed
