Beguiling Costner performances in three enjoyable films
This economically packaged set of four DVDs is notable for featuring Costner at his most casually appealing best. Never a histrionic actor, he displays his subtle and nuanced charms in all four movies, three of which garnered accolades. The double-sided DVDs are perfectly adequate with bonus features (trailers, interviews, etc.), and the packaging is utilitarian. But, of course, these sets are purchased for the quality of the films, and you, if a Costner fan, will not be disappointed. "The Upside of Anger," "The Bodyguard," and "Tin Cup" are all fine movies displaying compactly well-written scripts and truly effective acting by his co-stars and supporting cast members. It is interesting to note that Costner's very cavalier, lackadaisical presence and characterizations (even "slacker-like") create sparks with the more solid, realistic-rooted, and pragmatic roles of his co-stars, female and otherwise (man, child, teenager, dog). Joan Allen and Rene Russo are very effective foils to Costner and contribute much to the enjoyment and success of their respective movies. But Whitney Houston, so effectively dramatic in her debut, lends "The Bodyguard" much weight and substance. Watching her is heartbraking in consideration of her tragic and very premature death (and do not miss the bonus feature in which she is interviewed). This set, by the way, was purchased specifically to view her riveting performance; serendipitously, it was included in this package. Finally, the less written about the fourth film, "Rumor Has It," the better.

Missing movie
Three of the movies are great, but I can’t judge the movie “Upside of Anger” as only the first five minutes was there, the rest was blank.

One is artistic perfection/ Two are great entertainment/ One is kinda cute
The Upside of Anger makes this DVD worthwhile. Costner at his best and Joan Allen electrifying in her performance. Costner, Russo, & Johnson show us the World of Professional Golf and fun Cinematic Comedy at it's Best. Whitney with her voice and beauty and many standout supporting performances make this Soap Opera drama engrossing. What Woman wouldn't want Costner as her Bodyguard? Rumor is a Chick Flick. As such it was good for a giggle and more Costner.
