Orpat OPH-1240 1800-Watt PTC Heater (Grey White)

Product is good even quality material and safe for children. Main disadvantage is its power cable which 15amp plug to connect with power supply. We never use 15amp plug in bedroom which means problem to connect this heater. You can say it's useless if you don't have 15amp plug at suitable location. Wire is also short so you can't move it far. Plug socket coming with this heater is similar to which comes with oven. But those have supply points in bedrooms then this heater is best deal else useless.

Not working afte creating flash with sound during working. This is haapended after using 13 dyas only. There is no response on customer care number. Horrible !!. Amazon should arrange to return back money

This product works well. It has got four operational modes, 1. simple fan with no heating, 2. 1200w mode, 3. 1800 w mode, and 4. 1800w mode with oscillation(rotation) The entire top sitting on the base in the above figure rotates in the fourth mode facilitated by a ball baring in the base. At the bottom of the base there is a projecting knob which gets pressed flat when the heater is sitting upright.This knob is a safety device which pops out and switches off the power to the heater when the heater happens to tilt/fall any side. The two switches in the front are thermostat control for temperature setting power mode selection switch. The fan is in the back side, which blows air over the heating element and the hot air comes from the mesh(radiator like design to increase surface area for max heat transfer to air) in the front side. Other features--Auto switch off once the set temperature is reached,and overheat protection The PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient) is a temperature sensitive semiconductor, which is made of doped polycrystalline ceramic on the basis of barium titanate. The resistance of these thermistors increases sharply when a defined temperature is reached. This property is the reason for the self-regulation characteristic, which the PTC heating elements make use of.Due to the special Resistance-Temperature-characteristic, there is no additional temperature regulation or safety device necessary while reaching high heat-power level when using the low resistance area. This unit comes with a 15A plug that does not fit in any socket in the bed room, not even the AC socket. I had to replace the plug to start using it. Second issue is that once the thermostat trips at a temperature, room has to become really cool for the thermostat to restart. I think that the problem is simple and can be easily fixed by manufacturer. When the thermostat trips, it turns off the fan also. Once the fan is off, all the heat present in the heating elements (much hotter than ambient) makes the unit warm and keeps it warm for longer time. So even if the room gets cold, thermostat does not know it immediately. What I plan to do is to open the unit and connect the Fan such that it remains on even if the thermostat trips. I hope the fan does not tap a lower voltage from the heater coils to run, like in some of the hair dryers. Another issue is that the sweep is available only in the 1800W mode. That control should have been independent.

This heater worked for 2 winters. It stopped working after that.

I have been using this product for past 8 years. Never had issues.. it is small and efficient. Can heat a 10' x 10' room within 15-20 mins..

Packing and delivery - Excellent (No comments) Working condition - It works perfectly only on a smooth platform but when placed it on a chair which is not a flat platform then it won't work. This is bit disappointing and I don't understand the reason why it was designed in such a way. Good for a small single/double bed room but not for very large halls. Tilting works only at max air flow speeds. This is another draw back.
