This is a good looking blade but the quality is far from what I expected. The blade portion as well as the tang is far from symmetrical. This took a lot longer to put a handle on it than it should have. I would not recommend this for a beginner. If I had to do it over again I would cut the handle down and make it a hidden tang.

GREAT KNIFE
I bought This for a present! And gave it! And it was given back! So I did not need it so I returned it Good looking Knife. Nothing bad to say about it. WISHED I NEEDED IT BUT I DID NOT.

They were much better than anticipated and quite beautiful
I purchased a pair of these for my Kung Fu Grandmaster's 70th birthday. They were much better than anticipated and quite beautiful. The steel is extremely hard as I found out when I tried to drill out the pin holes in the handle. I ended up having to anneal the steel at the hole locations to drill. After some modifications I was able to slide up and attach the hand cut oriental style solid brass guards. The handles are ebony and ivory, pinned with brass rod. I left the steel as is and only sharpened the edges a bit. To help alleviate rust, wipe them down with alcohol and put a coat of Renaissance Wax on them.

Bad Manufacturing
All of the measurements on half of the knife are 1/8 lower then the opposite side . These are reject blades . Both pin holes are offset . Notice similar feedback with same complaint on amazon just for this dagger .

All I can say about this knife is absolutely beautiful. It is a high carbon Damascus, it will rust easily. It arrived sealed in multiple bags and wrapped in paper and coated in oil. This knife is great for someone to put a custom handle on and use as a boot knife or display piece. It really is that good looking. I love it.

Blank but Beautiful!
I bought this dagger for its Damascus Steel natural beauty. So wonderful that I don't wish to wrap or cover its handle although I could. I prefer it 'As Is' as a part of my extensive knife collection! This is another Amazon Great buy! Thanks Amazon! SlySloany
