My Jolly Phonics Hardcover – 1 Mar. 2011

My daughter is an August baby and although she attended Nursery in the local school I felt that I wanted to try and promote what they learnt at school at home. There's lots of free resources on the Jolly Phonics website but I wasn't 100 percent sure I was teacher her in a structured way and was worried about us both getting lost in the learning process or wasting time doing it inefficiently. I saw this pack on the jollyPhonics website. I am glad I didn't pay the RRP as I feel it would be overpriced. I paid just over £50 which I feel is still on the steep side but the main thing is we've had a really fun first night and my daughter is really excited she has her own phonics stuff at home and recognised what it was. Overall I think it's a really useful resource it means I now know where to lead and where to step back and the books youCan print pages yourself and the stories are actually really good. The DVD is a bit dated but the characters are the same so she didn't seem to mind. I'd recommend.

Great set. Got for half price but would not pay full price.DVD is fun, kids watch it but the episodes are very long.Music CD is great covers all the sounds but kids prefer watching them on UTube with the phonics actions.The music book has the words and actions to go with the cd.Story book is same as the dvd, but it's nice to dip in and out as bedtime stories.Kids love the A1 sized poster.Only disappointment was the activity books. Lots of pages with pointless activities -make an 's' shape from cress seeds and watch it grow, a double page spread and one large 's' for them to trace. They're in full colour with a thin card cover, but I just don't rate them as 'sit down and do' books.

Fantastic product so impressed with all contents and the snakes head holding pencils is good, my young one reached for and wanted to explore it straight away as it looked fun. In side the activity books are sticker books ideal for mine, the CD has lots of fun learning games which has three levels from easy to hard. The DVD is 2hrs and 55 mins long which has mine glued. The songs are fun and easy to sing with song book provided. The reading book is good with letters raised to feel, so much though has gone into this package it great and seems to be very much enjoyed my little one did not like the BBC one previously bought and had found it scary so was so pleased he took to this like a duck to water and has learnt so fast how to spell.

Rip off and most of the things on here are available on the internet for free. The videos are so dated (something out of the 60s or 70s), so definitely think very carefully whether you need this whole set or whether you can simply get this from the internet for nothing.

I bought this for my 4 year old who has started to learn the phonic sounds at school in reception class. This pack helps reinforce all the sounds, and teaches me the actions and sounds he is learning at school so I can help to reinforce what he is being taught. DVD very useful. Story book very useful. CD ROM a bit outdated, fortunately I have a separate DVD/CD player that I have to plug into laptop. My 4 year old loves the bag and pencils that comes with it. Good activity books.

Great set of books to encourage children to read with lots of activities and stickers and a lovely story book.

I bought this as a present for my 3 year old grand daughter and she loves it, it is very informative and certainly keeps the interest of the children. Well worth the money

He loves the fact that its in a special bag that belongs to him, the products are robust and clear. Not had much use of them myself as he does it with his nanny (who is Montessorri trained and she recommended it), but looking forward to improving son's phonics with them. He can already do the first few easily.,
