Schott NYC Men's Cyclone 2 Peacoat Reefer Long Sleeve Coat

Nice coat, sizing is very slim fit. I actually have two, one in a medium and one in a small. If you don't plan on wearing anything more than a thin sweater underneath, get your normal size, but if you want to wear something moderately thick or multiple layers then go up a size. it's quite a warm coat, the padded lining is significant without too much bulk and the zip out bib/neck warmer is great if you don't want to wear a scarf. the material is not the softest of wool, but definitely not scratchy or uncomfortable against bare skin by any means. unlike most peacoats, this one actually looks good unbuttoned - because the front buttons are closer together, there's less material needed to 'overlap' width-wise, so you don't have all that excess fabric an unbuttoned peacoat (or really anything that's double breasted) usually has. again, make sure you're aware of the slim cut before ordering - for your reference, i'm 5"6', 137 lbs, and a small fits me like a glove with just a shirt underneath, but with a sweater (or a 'jumper' as i believe it's called in europe), a medium is needed. the only negative is the 'schott nyc' logo on the upper arm - it's sewn into the fabric with thread so can't be removed.

This is an excellent winter jacket, the insert will keep the cold off your neck too. Wore it on bitterly cold days in Edinburgh and New York and never felt chilled at all. Minor gripe the buttons will eventually work loose so if anyone has a method to make them super firm I'd be grateful for comments.

This looks good and seems well made with nice detailing but it's very lightweight and the material is scratchy. The bit that zips off is only the front three inch (approx.) edge of the lining. An interesting attempt to rework the classic naval pea coat as a jacket but I don't think it works. Not keen on the embroidered logo on the sleeve and the huge branding inside the coat. I am 6 foot with 40 inch chest and the large only just fitted, it's cut as a bumfreezer. I returned it.
