If you want to have a garden in the woods, you need to be diligent - and vigilant. Most of all, you need some insurance. Deer Stopper II is an effective part of your garden insurance plan. Smells pleasant enough - cinnamon, mint and a hint of pepper. And after using it for about a month, I'm comfortable saying that it does its job well. I see deer tracks near my beds, but not in them. I see many more flowers now.Two points to keep in mind:1) Do not rely on one product alone. Alternate with Liquid Fence, or whatever else you've had success with. For me, mixing it up has helped. The deer smell the rich and varied bouquet of sweet and sour - and stay away.2) Once a month - as most spray directions recommend - usually doesn't work. If you're serious about keeping your garden, try at least once a week. I spray an hour before dark. Gives it just enough time to dry, while ensuring that it's fresh. (Also, spraying in full sun can cause more wilt.) I sometimes freshen up every 2-3 days. I have also sprayed at 10 or 11 pm, after a heavy rain. While true that sprays are most effective applied on and around dry leaves, I'll take whatever insurance I can get!Finally, there are no magic bullets when it comes to deer. Only the regular kind may be fully effective in discouraging them! We have all seen "deer resistant" plants decimated; and when we see "deer proof," well, we should realize that there's likely proof to the contrary. Deer are agents of chaos, burglars, vampires. Stomachs with legs, anyway. They may be gone for days or months, but don't fool yourself. They'll be back. Deer Stopper II can be a meaningful, pleasant smelling part of your insurance plan.

The deer in my neighborhood are persistent! They will eat anything I plant, even hollies. Deer Stopper is the only product that has worked to keep the deer out of my gardens. You have to get Deer Stopper II if you want a scent that won't make you gag. DS II is very spicy scented with a lot of clove and cinnamon notes. It will last through some rain but we spray one a week just to be on the safe side. The only time the deer ate my hostas was the ONE time it rained very hard and I forgot to spray.I didn't realize I bought a concentrate (grey bottle vs red bottle) so this is a truly amazing value. You mix it with water at a 1 to 9 ratio with and spray away! Tip: always shake before using.

It’s expensive, but it works for at least 2 or 3 weeks. Greatly reduces deer feeding on your garden. The good thing, is that it causes deer to avoid your flowering plants and shrubs because they get into the habit of trying elsewhere first. The smell dissipates quickly after drying, so that’s not a problem. Get to know your garden, because not everything must be sprayed, so that saves on material and money

Waste of money ... even tried following night doubling the strength ... deer still feasting, tractor supply works great !

I have been using Deer Stopper 2 for several years using the quart size. This year I bumped up to the gallon size. I went to use the gallon sized container recently and found its contents clumpy - basically unusable. Adding to my misfortune, I had not discovered the issue until my Amazon return date was expired. I wrote Messina directly showing photos and my receipt. Their response: an apology, a direct ship that arrived just 3 business days after my email, and... and... they had opened the gallon they sent me and ensured it was a good batch, then tightly taped it shut. I'm back in business with not only the best deer repellent on the market, but also with the best customer service on the market. Thanks Messina!!!

Excellent deer and rabbit repellent !! * Applied 1 gallon dilution sprayed on my Rose and Daylily Garden couple of days ago. This is the very best deer repellant. I live across the road from a large state park that is a refuge for wild life. In the past the deer have leveled my plantings. Nothing has worked till I found this. I’ve been using Deer Stopper 2 for 4 years and all I do is spray it on my plantings every week (I don’t trust the “Works for 30 days”) and I have never had a deer problem since. Worth every penny.

It will cut down on the amount of damage deer do but in my case I trusted it too much. I thought as I had just sprayed I could let my guard down with another measure I’d been doing. Mistake! They came in last night and ate about 1/4 of the flowers on one side of the garden. It was just a few hours after I had sprayed. No rain to cut down on the effects. Just beware nothing is foolproof except a tall fence!
