Review: Bought for my daughter who was nearly 12 at the time. She absolutely loved it and recommended it to all her friends. It’s hard to find a book on puberty that isn’t too childish but also not text heavy so you feel like you’re reading a novel. This has the perfect balance, all the info is in small digestible chunks and it’s nicely designed and laid out. Some found it too explicit, I understand that but I told my daughter what was in it and that she could just skip parts if she wasn’t comfortable with them. She did skip parts that are not relevant to her yet but she said she’s glad that she has somewhere to get information when she needs it. From the age of 11-13 there can be a steep change for kids with their interests, feelings and body. Every child matures differently so you can judge whether you think it would be appropriate for yours. It can be difficult to look at your kid and imagine them needing to know about things like sexting but there are a lot of things kids will come across through others in school etc. I think it’s better to have a safe place to get information and be forewarned about things like consent. It doesn’t recommend things like hair removal, just gives information on what’s out there. The information is straight forward and non judgemental which is great. I would highly recommend this book.

Great book, answers a lot of questions that tweens have around puberty and growing up. I bought this for my 12 year old, I think it's age-appropriate and there's probably not much in here she doesn't already know. I probably wouldn't give it to my 9 year old unsupervised yet but there are certainly sections that we could read together now, and when she's ready for 'the talk' I think this could be a very handy guide. Every child is different but I think this would be suitable from around age 10/11.

Depending on the age of the young lady reading it, helpful for a parent to review content first. Particularly if it has been bought to prepare for periods (without discussing more sensitive topics)
