I was very impressed with this kit - much more than I expected for the price. It has a well finished maple neck and a high quality two piece ash body, with a great grain pattern. Most kits at this price come with a basswood body, which is not bad, but the ash is a real plus.The frets required almost no re-dressing, and the bass was perfectly intonated right out of the box.
