ruffwear and the like, but the 'My Busy Dog' ones caught my ...
We have a Greater Swiss mountain dog that was recently diagnosed with 'Wobblers Syndrome', a result of cervical stenosis. She has been getting wobbly in the rear over some time, and dragging her rear feet. It has gotten to the point where the inner two toenails ground down and bled. We needed to get something on her feet to stop that from happening and of course we looked on Amazon. There were the usual brands, ruffwear and the like, but the 'My Busy Dog' ones caught my eye due to the higher rated reviews and lower pricing. Frankly, I was prepared to buy a number of brands to find the right one for our girl, just like I did with lifting harnesses (get a Help em Up - the other 5 I bought to try were all donated to our Vet). *ANYWAYS*... in sizing our girl, she was in between sizes (between a 6 and a 7). So I posted a message to the My Busy Dog facebook page thinking it would be a delayed reply, but to my delight I got a reply back from Ashley, the owner, within 20minutes- late in the evening even. She recommended the size 7, which I ordered. We had a great chat, and she was very helpful in guiding me to the correct boots.So... the boots. All I can say is wow. Very nice booties for my girl. There is some really nice thought in these, and the quality (at this point) seems spot on. To be honest, we are only using them on her rear feet and only because of the foot dragging. We did NOT buy them for a traction issue (but more on that in a minute). The booties are very easy to put on our girl... thankfully she is not fussy about her rear feet (fronts, that's a WHOLE 'nother story). They open wide, and after a few 'installations' you get the hang of holding them just such a way that keeps them open the most. The tightening strap is easy to do, and takes a few times to get the right amount of pressure so the booties don't come off, but if you pay attention it comes fast to you and they stay on great. And stay on they do! Even with the foot dragging issue, these stay on with zero issues. And, as a huge bonus, there is a second strap for retention and tightening that is VERY reflective. VERY. That is a HUGE bonus for me, as in Alaska it gets dark a lot here, and the straps add another layer of safety on our walks. With moron drivers these days, every extra layer of safety is needed and welcomed. So far they are holding up well, with the only issue being the sole of the booty with the raised traction patterns is wearing down. But, I totally expected that since our girl drags her feet - the entire reason we bought these. And, because of the booties, her middle toenails are growing out again. yay!So... even though we did not buy these for a traction issue, they do work well in that regard. We stopped walking her at the new local Cabelas store since they put such a smooth polished shine on the floor that even in her prime, our girl would slip and slid thru the store. And now with her rear legs issue, no way would we walk there. Until we got the booties, that is. We took her there a few days ago, simply because we wanted to try the booties. and with just the rears on as usual, she was pulling hard and having a great time. There wasn't a Cabelas employee that she didn't tackle for a treat, and maintained her footing the whole time. Time will tell how they do on the ice and snow (that's coming in a few weeks) but again, that was never our reason for buying them.Overall, SUPER satisfied. Even with the wear on the pavement, I think they are doing great. Heck, the whole reason I bought them was to have the booties wear on the pavement on not her feet. Mission accomplished. And with a set of 4, we're only using 2 at a time, so we have spares. And when those spares wear out... I'll certainly buy more from My Busy Dog.

Great quality, beautiful boots, but they didn't work for us
I purchased these shoes for my yellow lab Cody, who suffers from a skin condition that makes his skin (especially his paws) extremely sensitive. The skin around his pads will slough off and bleed if I let him run around in the snow without protection. Since we live in New England, and my dogs LIVE for their weekend hikes, it is absolutely essential that I find Cody a set of comfortable and durable dog boots.Having returned 2 previous sets of boots (other brands that either didn’t fit or lacked a satisfactory amount of traction), I was beginning to have doubts about the concept of dog boots on the whole. To my surprise though, I was immediately impressed by this set of waterproof boots. The overall quality was unlike any of the previous boots I had tried on Cody or had seen while searching Amazon. They are lined with a soft, smooth fabric and the rubber soles are unlike anything I’ve ever seen for a dog—I think they provide even more traction than my hiking boots give me!Fifteen minutes into our first hike and Cody was still running laps around me as I walked, clearly LOVING the pain free experience his new boots were giving him. I thought our problems were finally solved until…his first boot went missing in action. Unfortunately, I discovered a little too late that, in order to keep the boots from slipping off, I needed to really pull on the Velcro closures to get them tight enough for the boots to not slide off. After grudgingly calling off the search for the lost boot, I tightened the remaining 3 boots and we headed off again. At the end of our hour-long hike I loaded Cody into my car and removed the 3 boots. To my dismay, there were patches of raw, irritated skin on his front paws, where the fabric under the Velcro had rubbed on his dewclaws. On a later walk, I tried applying tape to this area (as another customer suggested), but it didn’t seem to help.Overall, I think these boots would be perfect for the dog owner who takes short walks with his or her dog on a leash, so they can keep an eye on the boots while walking. If they were built a little taller and the Velcro straps were not directly over the dewclaws, I bet they would be easier to secure.

Size 7 (5 Star) , Size 5 (2 Star they have inferior Velcro)
We purchased two pairs of these boots back in December. One set of size 7 Red boots for our large Labradoodle dog Kodiak and one set of size 5 orange boots for our small Labradoodle Bailey.First the size 7 boots - They are fantastic, a 5 star, the best dog boots we ever purchased and we have tried everything. Kodiak the large dog has very sensitive feet and the salt our apartment usees on the walkways and driveway makes his feet bleed. I found the boot itself to be very well made of quality materials. It opens very easily and is fast to put on and off and, best of all Kodiak likes wearing them. Now the bad news! The size 5 boots are only a 2 star, made with inferior Velcro. Right from the beginning, Bailey's boots the smaller dog were constantly coming off every time we walked him. I went to Canadian Tire and bought long strips of an elastic material with 2" velcro tabs on the end. Unfortunately, this didn't help either. My husband sent a message to the Manufacturer through Amazon asking if we could exchange the boots for the smallest size that uses the better quality Velcro but we haven't received any messages from either party. We also asked to return the boots for a larger size because we tried Kodiak's boots on Bailey and they were fine even though they were too big on him.Right now I'm sewing a cuff on Bailey's boots to cover the Velcro straps and hopefully keep them from falling off.So right now I am an unhappy customer.

The best product i have ever used
The best product, i have used 2 different brands before.I have purchased it twice since 2015, the last set from 2019 is still in a very good shape.I recommend this product - easy to wear and its very very good on the paw (as tight as you make it)

Meh
Nice fit but terrible traction. Pooch slides all over the place with these - even on light packed snow.
