BAK 26203 BakFlip G2 Truck Bed Cover

I have only had this cover for about a month. so far I like it. It was easy to install. It is sturdy and versatile. It is nice being able to keep things covered, dry, and secure in the back and still be able to use the open bed when needed. There are a few things that keep it from 5 stars though.- There was some minor damage from packaging. Not enough to worry about for warranty, but BAK industries would do well to pay some closer attention to the quality of their packaging. For example, the end for one of the struts to hold the cover open was broken, but I had a spare from my boat.- It is necessary to open the cover to close the truck tailgate. This is to keep the seal strip from getting on the inside of the tailgate, which could damage it and leak. This takes two hands when sometimes only one is available. I don't have a solution, but it is an opportunity for improvement.- I find it difficult to find the little cable to unlatch the cover with gloves on. It is winter, and I sometimes wear gloves when loading things (delicate hands). And it is difficult to find and grab that little cable to unlatch the cover without reaching my neck up over the bed rail and looking under the cover. A more prominent grab would make it easier to blindly unlatch each section. An improvement might be a short pice of strap hanging on the cable to grab.

I like the cover so far, installation was fairly simple. I just installed it the other day. I wish the instructions were more detailed, but I figured it out.The one thing that bothers me a little bit is when opened it rests only on my window glass due to the curve of the rear window. I have a sliding rear window as well and I just worry about putting the weight on the glass. I have a 2014 Ram Express 4x4 Regular Cab.I went to Bak Industries website to register, as the paperwork says, and could not find the location to do so. I did a chat session and was told this:08:33:11 AM [Visitor] Hello, I bought my BakFlip G2 from Amazon. The paperwork said to register it on your website. Where do I do that?08:34:05 AM [Mike H.] When ordered from Amazon or Ebay it wil void the warranty on the product08:34:20 AM [Mike H.] So it cannot be registered for warranty claims

Not terribly difficult to install on my 2008 Ram 1500 quad cab, and seems to fit quite nicely. You'd think they'd give you some kind of padding to protect the paint on the bed rails from the rails that you clamp in place with this kit(?) I cut some flexible styrofoam to place between the 2. As well as I could fit it on the bed, I have to really slam the back panel over the gate on the driver side or it does not latch down. Also, I left my truck parked outside overnight with a heavy rain and found quite a bit of water in the bed towards the front of the truck, so definitely not a perfect seal. I like the security of having this cover along with a locking tailgate. Nice to be able to open it completely and access the full bed. Only pain is that you cant close the tailgate with the back panel in lockdown position. You have to first close the gate, then close the last panel in the back. 3 stars for quality and functionality.

Just installed it on my 2014 RAM 1500. it took about 1 hour after I had to look up the instructions.Quality of construction seems good. I like the laminated construction and the clamping bed rails.The system did not come with any instructions. as simple exploded view would have helped me install even quicker. I ended up looking up the instructions on the web site and watched the video.Note- they say to use a 15mm wrench, however it is actually a 9/16 bolt. you will only need a 9/16 box/open end wrench to install the bed rails. after that, lay out the cover to do a quick alignment, then go back to tighten up the knobs to hold the cover in place.looks clean, installed easy (after figuring it out), I think this will last...

Their website has a very good installation video, and I watched it before the installation. It was a very big help. As they stated, you only need one wrench or socket. BUT - you will also need some sharp scissors to trim the drain tubing to length. The actual installation on my new Ram 1500 actually took less time than they predicted. The support rails went on in less than 10 minutes. The cover went on in about 5 minutes. Cleaning up the debris on a windy day took about a half hour. This installation was completed by one person. With 2 people the time should decrease substantially.2 tips - first, watch the video. It makes the installation a breeze. Second, don't install on a windy day. The cover is very securely packaged - and that packaging can cause some challenges on a windy day.NOTE - a local dealer wanted $130 to install this cover.

Fit my 2012 Ram 2500 Short Bed like a glove. It was very easy to install and the day after I put it on I drove the truck through a major rainstorm. When I got to my destination and opened the bed the entire thing was bone dry. One thing to watch for, however, is where you locate the 3 rubber bumpers on the 2nd to last panel that supposedly protect the rear window when the cover is folded up vertically. If you mount them where BAK tells you then the panel will still lean with direct contact against the window. Don't mount these bumpers until you see where the panel makes vertical contact with the rear window. Also take the advice of the directions and push down on the side rails while you tighten them up. As mentioned in the install guide, this makes for a better seal and is easiest with two persons.

Trim rubber is waffling over time, I wish the design did not require me to open the tailgate first to close the cover.

Excellent product. Works very well and is durable and secure. I like how it folds up against the rear window of my truck as it acts as a barrier/protector.

Simple to install! Low profile design looks sharp. Secure design. Very pleased with the quality of this topper for our 2013 ram 2500 regular box.
