Lack of face-to-face interaction did not keep long-distance collaborators from turning in exceptional performances: Norah Jones' lascivious "Sucker," Kool Keith's "Getaway" and Massive Attack's "Kill The DJ" are intense and passionate as anything a live band environment could have produced. Peeping Tom also includes contributions from Amon Tobin, Bebel Gilberto, Dub Trio, Kid Koala and several of Patton's Bay Area running buddies, such as Dan "the Automator" Nakamura (who tag teams with Rahzel on "Mojo"), Jel, Odd Nosdam and Doseone of anticon records. The end result is an utterly unique multigenre/ multi-artist departure from Patton's more recent noisy output-one that would ultimately have to be classified as a pop recordú a Mike Patton pop record, but a pop record nonetheless.

Few Hooks Left Me Disappointed
I was on a kick about Mike Patton and learned of this album. Concept sounded cool. Production on this is top notch. Even the performances here are great. There were just no hooks for me. Nothing grabbed me and said "you gotta listen to this again"!I see it has mostly five star ratings, and that's great. I thought I was enough of a Mike Patton fan to enjoy whatever he released, but I was sadly mistaken. I REALLY wanted to love this one.If you're a huge MP fan, you should give this album a try. You very well may like it and I hope you do.

Patton's the man!
This album is supposed to be Patton's version of pop & what he feels should be on the radio. Well compared to the stuff you hear on the radio, this material wouldn't even come close. I would be surprised to hear any of these tracks on the radio any where in the states except for maybe some college radio stations. If I attempted to play this to my radioslave friends thinking that they would be able to enjoy it or have the attention span for it because it Patton's most accesible work since Faith No More, I would be sadly mistaken. It's more accessible than the most of his recent projects, but doesn't even come close to FnM's accessibility. FnM is a whole different animal.Mr. Bungle's first album actually is more accessible to me than Peeping Tom as a whole. So let's not kid ourselves...no, even better, lets stop insulting this music by calling it "pop."The Peeping Tom album is a great album that only shows few signs of accessibility from time to time & THAT'S A GOOD THING! The music on this entire album is very original. There's nothing out there that sounds like it & I'm so glad there's still a few artists out there like Patton. The music industry should promote & recognize artists for their originality & having talent above & beyond the average musician. In this day in age, they don't. The back up puppets who can push merchandise, can do a decent dance choreography, & image than the music itself. Patton represents the complete counter culture to that & good for him. This cd is worth every penny.

Well Done Mr. Patton
Wow -- I'm listening to this for the second time right now. The first time through, just under half of the record was great on first listen -- more so on the second trip. This is a great effort. On the X-Excutioners collaboration, I was frequently left thinking "D'oh! But I liked that part! Do that a while longer!" This album has the same feel as that one (not as Zorn-like) but less indulgent. Definitely lots of conscious pop-styling.When I introduced one of my friends to GWAR many years ago, he said after his second or third show "You know why they're better than any other metal band? Because they're making fun of metal AND they're a great metal band. Thus they transcend all others."Patton is doing the same thing here. He's frickin' Dionne Warwick on track 7 and it's great!Yes, this one will probably grow into 5 stars.

A good album from a talented group of artists.
Enjoyed the album. Mike Patton is a talented musical artist. Peeping Tom was another one of his experimental / project bands. This album is a good look at some of the stuff he likes to do. Really enjoyed the track MOJO.

GREAT!!!
Another album, another different type of music from the genius named Mike Patton. If you are a rock/hard rock/metal fan and have heard Mike's name from such bands and have limited idea about him, and expect yet another album in those genres, you probably won't like this album. But, if you know what Mike Patton is, how he has no limits music-wise, you won't be surprised hearing the songs on this album. They are all too good. The world needs more Mike Pattons but unfortunately, musicians like him are getting rare and rare.

Another Amazing Project!
If Mike Patton is involved in virtually any musical project,it at the very least,is going to be interesting, and at most,it will boggle your mind, like Peeping Tom,it will grow on you like a fungus!

The first two tracks are the best ("5 seconds and "Mojo")
The first two tracks are the best ("5 seconds and "Mojo"). I would give those 5 stars! "Getaway" with Kool Keith is pretty good, as well as "Neighborhood Spaceman". Mike Patton is a genius, but this album as a whole doesn't stand out like his other work. The album starts out great, but then becomes rather anticlimactic.

Buy it.... you won't be sorry!
OK...I know this album was released sometime ago but I only heard it recently and LOVED it immediately (very rare occurrence!) So to quote one of my favourite bands "I'm so glad the past is all gone"Loved that when I had purchased this I could download it straight away before the physical copy arrived. The physical CD is a treat though, because it packaged in such a way that if you pull the tab on the right the CD pops out of the left - never seen a CD packaged like that before.Obviously, comparisons will be drawn with Faith No More, but I won't say all FNM fans would like this, however if you like FNM for the diversity of their tracks (from "Caffeine" to covering "This guys in love with you") you will like this as it is a FNM like musical journey.
