Value and Quality Product
Bottled is sealed - for me it did was not salty enough. But I just added more! And it is delicious on toast or scones! A bigger bottle would have been a better buy for me but this product is great, good quality and yes, it is value for money at this size.

Works well in soups and stews.
I have seen recipes that call for marmite but was reluctant to buy and use it because I had also read how much some people disliked it. I finally decided to give it a try and I’m glad I did. Just a small spoonful in a pot of soup or stew gives an extra something that lifts the recipe to a new level. I suspect that marmite will remain in use in my cooking.

I was right! I love Marmite!
I've wanted to try Marmite for years, but being American I've never come across any in my local stores. I finally decided to buy some online, and tasted it the day it arrived: I was right! I love Marmite! It tastes almost exactly as I always imagined it would: salty and savory and rich! What was unexpected was that it tastes a little like bouillon, and that it's thicker than I thought it would be, thicker than molasses, as in, the part I scooped out of the jar with a butter knife has held it's shape, whereas in a jar of molasses it would settle level with gravity soon. I tasted it on it's own off the butter knife I used to get some out to make Marmite roasted tatties with some fried ham, seen here! I mixed 1TBSPN Marmite with 1TBSPN butter and 1 TBSPN Marsala cooking wine, cooked it in a small pot till it mixed, then tossed it over the potatoes, peeled and diced, and baked for an hour or so, tossing it every 20 minutes to keep the mixture evenly coated. I topped them with sour cream and added thyme and they were DELICIOUS! If I could complain about anything it would be the price for a small jar, but eh, it's not all that unexpected for an imported food item. Delicious product! Now I know for sure where I've always stood on the Marmite love/hate dynamic: It's Love!!

Marmite- delicious!
What a marvelous iron-rich product. It is great on hot buttered toast, added to a bland broth, or used as part of a pasta “sauce” that includes adding to hot pasta: not only Marmite but olive oil/butter cheese and freshly ground pepper. Plus a few tablespoons of hot pasta cooking water-

Oh boy.
I'm a typical USA guy and as you'd expect only heard legends of the yeasty savory paste that is Marmite. They aren't kidding when they say to spread thinly. It is very strong, and very flavorful. I may not personally be a huge fan OF that flavor, but it's definitely a great way to spice up otherwise bland treats. My favorite ways to enjoy it so far has been various crackers, toast, and even on some baby carrots.Just watch out for the sodium content if that's a particular dietary concern. I took off a star because even though I know my jar was untainted due to the yellow tamper tape on the outside, I also would really like an additional paper seal over the jar itself under the lid to guarantee freshness. If it does normally have that, mine didn't.but overall it's definitely marmite.
