Very realistic and large..love it
I love this hippo! 9 inches long. I used it for a diorama I made. Very good quality. It is very realistic. I named him Tubby as I name all my animals in my dioramas.

HUGE Hippo!!!
The first thing I noticed when I received this hippo in the mail was the size. I didn't check the product specs before purchasing and failed to note that the item is over nine inches long and weighs more than a pound. This makes is much, MUCH bigger than any of my Schleich figurines, Safari, PAPO, etc. It's sort of the monster-hippo.Size issues aside, this toy is extremely realistic and durable enough for a child to play with. The inside of the nostrils are a pale pink, the muzzle is dimpled, and even the teeth are yellowed and stained like a real hippopotamus in the wilds of Africa. The model is very accurate and the paint job is perfect. Overall - it was money well spent.Even if he is Hippozilla.

Hippos make me laugh. This is cheaper, and care less problematic than owning a real one. Cute.

Hippo for Christmas
We bought this because after my nephew heard the song "I want a hippopotamus for Christmas" he asked my husband, just days before Christmas, if he would get him a hippo and he said yes. I was then told he was telling everyone that we were getting him one and he was so excited! Thank goodness for Amazon Prime because we found this one and got it before Christmas. It's actually a really nice and pretty heavy hippo. Very sturdy for small kids to play with and be rough on.

Realistic and large
I bought this product for my nephew because he wanted a "realistic" hippo toy for his birthday. This did not dissapoint. Even the adults were impressed by the large size, details and general ferocity of this hippo. I would not recomend for children under 3 simply because it is a bit heavier. But for older kids, it's the perfect addition to any toy chest.
