Firsties love science!
I purchased this book to enhance the learning of my first graders during our sun, moon and stars science unit. It was a great fit!

Excellent! A little dated....(looks older)
I needed to find books to help me teach kindergarten children in Colorado about the sun's energy. I have purchased many trying to find the right one. This book is great. It seems like it has been around for awhile....didn't check copyright, but it was worth buying for sure. Not so technical that a kindergarten student would get bored but still great information.

Short and shallow
I'm a big fan for the series (Let's-Read-and-Find-Out) and so far I had bought 40-50 books so I'm really surprised when I got this book. I'm truly disappointed as this book is by far the shortest of all (only 19 pages of story instead of the usual 26-28 pages). On top of that, the fonts are huge so it "fills up" the page without providing any significant material. The add insult to the injury, the text is only every other page, so you have this double-page spread of picture with very little text (feels like a picture book instead of Level 2 of this series).I finished reading the book for my kids in 2 minutes. Usually it's about 8-15 minutes, with few titles are up to 20 min. Very unhappy with this book.

Book Report
I could not find this book anywhere. My son had a book report due. I found it on Amazon. My order arrived quickly and in great condition. Finished the report without stress.

Great for third grade science!
This is a very educational book that is written in kid-friendly language. It got my third grade students engaged and interested in learning about the sun.

A brilliant series of science books
This book is written with very clear and concise information for a child (and a 37 year old mum) to understand. It is a Stage 2 book, which they state "explore more challenging concepts for children in the primary grades." It states the intended age range of this book is 5-9 years old. The artwork inside is, they say, created using a computer so does appear a lot flatter and less appealing that the illustrations in some of their other Stage 2 books. Nevertheless, I thought it presented basic information in a fun and very interesting way and there are 2 experiments at the end that really get the children to put what they have learned into practice. This really does help to reinforce the information they have just learnt. Yet another excellent book from the Lets-Read-And-Find-Out About series of science books.
