My pond water sucked to see through. I made my pond huge after falling in love with all the rarest koi fish. And I've angered my wife by buying the top most vibrant ones. Hints i bought them, to see them. My filter was homemade and worked great for 1000 gal but once I went to 2000 gal the water stayed murky and my buddy said "save time and money and just buy a good filter from pondguy.com and woe they were pricey. So I read countless reviews and this one had the least hate so I ordered it. I'm telling you this ain't no joke. I know people leave bad reviews when they have issues but this really cleared the water in 3 days. Crystal Clear Yo! It's worth the money and worked great. I run 9,000 gallons an hour with two big pumps on a day/night timer so one stays on at night. I had to Jimmy rig a bypass so my 4 waterfalls still roar but I don't over pressure the filter. My inline flow meter has it running at 3200gal/hr and 42 psi and no leaks. Really dope filter and easy to dig a hole and sticker in the ground.lol. I ordered replacement parts to survive for the next six years. I suggest doing the same. Great product. Video is from initial hook up day 1 and already the surface is clearing up ( about 1.5 ft visible ) out of ( 5ft deep ). Good to see the common plecos are still alive and much bigger now through the abyss green water I had before. Good luck y'all.

The item came in a timely manner. Well boxed and all items were enclosed. Setup was an issue. The rbber seal were not easily to set inside the large securing bolt. The seal o-rind to fall out or it gets distorted as you tighten the bolt. The seal tend to fall toward the filter making it impossible to seal when setting it up for 2 “ adaptor. I had to get parts from Homedepot to complete installing the unit. Once install, it appears to be function well. Had to spend an extra $40 for adaptor parts. I will give an update in 30 days. After 30 days of 24/7 filtration, no real issues. The filter does not seem to support pump flow greater 2500gph. Higher pressure / flow rate tend to cause leaks around the filter seal. UV working well. After changing to schedule 40 fittings for the inlet, outlet, and discharge ports there are no more leaks. For the money, it was worth my extra efforts to get the adaptors and the filter worked well. From my experience with koi ponds for the last 20yrs, no other pressurized filter on the market at less than $300 will do as good of a job. Overall, it was a good experience for a DIY person who want to save $200-300 on similar capacity competing filter. Update: after 3 months of service I am dissppointed that the filter starts to leak around the canister filter lid. It apears tbe lid strapping to the filter developed a cracked. I have not open the filter since it was installed. I have use the filter as instructed with normal filtration and weekly backwash. I came back from work last night and I found my pond half full. Upon closer inspection, I noticed the leak around the filter lid and the canister. Not sure what to do...its past my return period and I am out $300 with a non-functioning filter. Found a new metal strap from a local pond dealer. Since the strap has been replaced, the filter has worked flawlessly. Going on 2 yrs, no problem. I will need to change out the sponge soon...any suggestions as where to get a set new sponge?

Original Review:This is by far the BEST PRESSURIZED UV FILTER OUT THERE. WANT CRYSTAL CLEAR WATER THIS IS THE TICKET. PRICE IS INSANE TOO. I ASSURE YOU AS A FULL TIKE POND CONTRACTOR I HAVE USED EVERYTHING AND THIS UNIT HAS surpassed and is above AND BEYOND. benefits ARE YOU CaN RUN UP TO 8000gph ALPINE PUMP which no other is filter will do that it takes up to 2 inch hose but adapts to 1.5 and is easy to clean the up light is replaceable and easy to find the only negative is I babe yet to find replacement filter pads for this unit and the pads are specifically designed with notches and are impossible to create your own plus they are about 18 inches in diameter. REVISION to ABOVE: I still think this filter hands down is a work-horse but the parts break and you have to make sure to back-wash weekly or you'll crack the lid but even with great care the parts inside will break and you'll be charged for replacements if they even respond.....

Seemed to be a good filter at first but after a month if installation the UV went out. The bulb was tested and still works but there is no way to get a new electronic sending unit for the bulb making the filter worthless unless I were to install a separate UV sterilizer. All precautions were taken to protect the filter, no water was found anywhere in the UV unit but as I know now, the cheap electronic parts within the filter are bad for longevity. ALL IN ALL-- DONT BUY THIS FILTER AS IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND PARTS OTHER THAN THE SPONGES. SEEMED TO BE GREAT BUT FOOLED AND NOW WITHOUT MY POND FILTER....

I have tried several different filter systems for my kio pound and none of them had really worked as advertised. I saw this one and it had the highest wattage UV bulb I had seen so I figured I would give it a shot. When I installed it my pound was green with algae to the extent you really couldn't see my fish. I figured it would take at least a few days to clear up if it was going to at all. The next morning the pond was crystal clear. It has been about a month now and it continues to work great. The backwash and cleaning is very convenient and works well.

This not my first purchase of this filter. I’ve owned one for five years before buying this one. I liked it so much I bought it again. I needed to replace filter elements after those 5 years and light. It was just cost effective to replace with a new one getting the new pieces I needed and keeping hook up easy. This is a great filter for my pond of about 3500 gals. Keeps water clear and fish happy. Easy to operate with just one knob to divert discharge water and a lever to agitate filer medium. I have nothing bad to say about it. As for the company who sold it to me, I think it arrived in 2-3 days. Good job to all!
